Do you need to be Lawful Good to aquire the Purifier? I want to play a solo Wizard Slayer/Thief and don't know if I'll ever be able to get it since I won't be Lawful Good.
Does it set your MR to 20, or does it add 20 to your MR? If it actually adds 20%, this weapon will be better than Carsomyr for me.

I'm pretty sure you just have to be lawful good. Do you play with Virtue? If you do, you're okay, since in the Hell Trials you can switch alignment. As long as you do that after you dual, you'll be just fine.

You have to be a paladin. It's the Sword and Shield version of Carsomyr, albeit a tiny bit weaker.
And yes, it adds 20% MR to your standing total. |

That can't be true, I've never played a paladin PC and the few times I've had Keldorn in my party I haven't visited WK. However, I know I've gotten The Purifier. This might have been before a patch or something though.

I'm fairly sure you're right, Bjorn. From personal experience, and by looking through a number of online guides, it seems you need only be lawful good to get the Purifier. Virtue or Improved Hell Trials will solve your issue, Klorox.

Because you are a Wizard Slayer/Thief, as soon as you get the thief HLA's, you can select 'Use Any Item' and you can use it.
Best powergamed dualing levels are: 24/28 WS/Thief 25/27 WS/Thief I'd personally go 24/28 and love it. Thats enough for 5* in two weapons (bastard sword and flails) and 3* in two weapon style. Job done EDIT: Just take Aerie along with you and have her get it for you. [ 02-21-2006, 07:46 PM: Message edited by: Dace De'Briago ]

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Moosey: I don't want to use any mods, thanks though. Dace: I'm not that much into Fighter HLAs, and the "turnaround time" would be way too long for my tastes. Level 15 as a Fighter, maximum. I also think it's really cheesey to pick up a character to get something for you if you're soloing (except for Valygar to open a certain door, but then I drop him immediately). It's the same as taking along a thief when you need something unlocked or a trap disabled. If I solo, it will be a true solo.

I got it!!!! This is going to be very difficult but I know how you can do it sans mods.
Now, the problem we have is that a thief can be all alignments EXCEPT lawful good. However, a wizard slayer CAN be lawful good. The regular Hell Trials only allow one to move downward in alignment. Here's what I propose: 1) Start as a LG Wizard Slayer 2) Go to WK before you go to Hell 3) In Hell, choose at least 1 evil option (turning you to LE) 4) Dual to Thief Going through the game as a lvl 15 wizard slayer would not be fun, but it's doable. In any case, that's how you could do it. EDIT: Because apparently you're doing a DC Wizard Slayer=>Wizard Slayer ![]() [ 02-22-2006, 10:28 PM: Message edited by: True_Moose ] |
