Hi, I would like to know if anyone of you ever tried an evil team or solo in order to beat the entire game.

I ask this because i never found any sources on the subject, and God knows how much I've searched!

Any comments on your "evil" experience will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I've mostly played "evil" games. Actually, I've never played a "good" game.

There's no trick to playing a evil based game. Just role play it as your character would. The best way to do that, for me at least, is to actually create a character biography and such and then go from there. It really makes game play more fun to have a sense of who your character is and act accordingly rather than just manipulating the AI for your needs.

I always play as either a true neutral or neutral good. (Easier to stay as an in-between sort of person.) However, I could always give nasty little ideas for being evil. Because as any well training evil person knows, the most joy and pleasure comes not from the acting but the plotting of evil intention.

lol- well said. I think NWN will be great for this sort of thing. BG is a little bit on the rigid side when it comes to plotting, but one can try!

I prefer mixed alignment parties when using NPCs. When playing custom parties of my own creation I use neutral-good aligned compositions, for the most part, although I have also played a few that were mixed and one 'all evil' party.

I recently had a pretty enjoyable time soloing a Neutral Evil cleric-mage. I would recommend giving that class a try some time for a solo 'evil' game. I thought it would be hard but it was almost shockingly easy. You just enter Sanctuary or cast Invisibility when the going gets rough. You can also bypass any fights you don't care to take on that way. With the clerical and mage spells you can use the devastating tactic of approaching unseen in Sanctuary or while invisible, and casting Stinking Cloud and Animate Dead. Or should you get swarmed enter Sanctuary again and cast Protection from Lightning or Fire and go to town with fireballs or lightning point blank. This is an extremely powerful solo class indeed. And when playing Neutral evil you can go around doing whatever you wish.

What is really hard, though, is soloing a faithfully roleplayed good aligned mage without using any monster or undead summoning.

I usually play good games...but sometimes with an evil alligned character.....

I see evil as stealing etc, rather than killing innocents. That's not evil, it's stupid. In RL, your character would know the difference.

I play mixed NPC groups usually, I dnt reject people because they are evil!

I strongly concur with Lemernis--Fenris Melkior, my Neutral Evil Cleric/Mage, had an absolute BALL terrorizing the Sword Coast in BG1 (go back about a month and look for the "I'm a Naughty Boy!" thread), and is currently ravaging Athkatla at large in BG2. Although I haven't gone solo yet, especially solo Evil--what's the point of being an evil mastermind with no peons to do your bidding?

My Evil party in BG2 keeps one slot open so that we can take each of the Good and Neutral NPCs, one by one, and make their life absolute HELL. Today it was Keldorn, a noble, upright Paladin, a member in good standing of the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart. I won't say what I did to him, but I do have a screenshot taken shortly beforehand, where I had him Detect Evil and the whole rest of the party was glowing red!

"Keldorn senses trouble brewing--NO SHIT!"

I finally gathered the members of my team. There is only evil and neutral aligned char
for much flexibility on my "evil" moves.

The strategy I employ is not very different as usual excepted that :

- I allow my team to kill any strong NPC, for the great xp and treasure reward.
- The team don't mind stealing anything it wishes to possess.
- Torturing good NPC is included as an hobby...
- The team will never kill any seller (priest, merchant of any sort) or weak peons.

The members are :

Zyrx (me) elf warrior/thief
Kagain (the front man, high hp regenerating dwarf)
Viconia (50% magic resistant cleric)
Branwen (cleric, good stats)
Edwin (specialist and the school only oppose divination, amulet for more spells, 18 int)
Garrick (identifier, medium ranged fighter, divination spells like identify)

What do you think of that team ?

Any other sugestion for its members ?
