For those of you who havent yet completed Watchers Keep, this thread contains SPOILERS about some of the plot twists yet to come.
* * * * SPOILER * * * * Right then. I fought my way to the bottom of watchers keep and prepared myself to banish the mighty demogorgon (who I did smite most mightily). I had quite a few dialogue options open to me, one of which was for demogorgon to show himself and face me then and there. Great. So I killed demogorgon and went to the top of the keep to put the knight of the vigil in their place as well. This is where it gets good. Look at the following screenshot and tell me you can feel the love: ![]() I am amazed with myself to be frank! To actually find my very own BG2 bug ![]() Comments? Praise for screwing the game up? Answers on a postcard please ![]() P.S. This is the first time I've ever beaten the big D. I feel chuffed

Looks like a screwed dialog.tlk file to me. Might have been a one-off though. Have to gone back to an auto save and tried again?
If the .tlk file is knackered, then it's easy enough to fix. |

I couldnt be bothered going back to a saved game. As far as I'm concerned, I beat up demogorgon and wonked the knights.
After that screenie, nothing crashed - the knights just didn't do what they are supposed to do (and try to kick my butt). I roleplayed this bit and pretended they were in such shock, my death cloud/running to the bottom of the tower whilst they died tactic was valid ![]() I mean, I took out a Prince of Demons - what chance would they have. So, knights of the vigil = dead. Demogorgon = dead. And thats how it should be

Nope mate.
Tactics. Ease of use (some components). Item upgrade. Latest patch. And thats all. I was WELL CHUFFED when I got this. I think its because I killed Demogorgan as soon as I got to him, without running up and down the tower/getting the full 'story'. hehehehehe [ 03-31-2003, 08:45 AM: Message edited by: Dace De'Briago ]

Good job I know how you feel...
On a side note, for those with Improved Demogorgon, how much experience were you able to leech from him? I was curious, as he kept summoning more demons for me to kill, what the experience limit was. Call me a powergamer... I got to 2 million experience before I got bored of that game. Then, of course, I promptly reloaded and properly beat him up as soon as I saw him.

It's most likely a one-in-every-thousand-strings bug. Happened to me once, too, and my DIALOG.TLK file is 100% fine. Reloading did it.
IF you'll see it again, though... THEN you should replace your DIALOG.TLK file. Do you have a backup? If not - reinstall.
