I had recently finished BGII and began ToB. To play ToB, I imported my group from BGII. Very early into the game (I had just entered Sarduch) my hard drive crashed and I had to do a full system restore.
The upshot is, I lost all information on BGII or ToB and my imported party is now gone. Everything is gone. No, I did not save the information on disc for two reasons. #1: I didn't know I could; #2 If I knew I could I didn't know how. Is is ethical as a gamer to go to a cheat site and download all the goodies I had collected from BGII SoA and give them to my characters so they will be as well equipped now as they were at the end of BG SoA? Or will the true gamer reload SoA, replay the entire game to reacquire the XP and treasure/magic so that the game can then be imported to ToB? Truely a dilemma. |

I would get the items from the CLUACOnsole becasue IMO a screwed up crash isn't a reason to start all over again.

Definitely get them back. No prob at all. Just try to resist the temptation to get items you missed, or items that you got early on in ToB.

Either use the clua-console or Shadowkeeper to re-create your party (if you still have your party stats that is pBluescript). I did the same to re-create my pnp characters and use them in one party. But indeed SK is even more tempting to add some extra items since you get to see the whole friggin' list of items available. Edit: BTW, I like your sig-statement [ 09-20-2002, 06:45 AM: Message edited by: Grindar Silvermane ]

I also Agree. This would not be a cheat. Go ahead and get your gear back and get playin. This is something that was out of your control. But if you still fell bad about doin it don't do it. But I would.

The only reason why you should reload BG2 that I can think of is that if you start a new game in TOB you cannot have/continue a romance.
Apart from that, I don't see any reason why you couldn't equip the items you want using SK, after all it's your game and you decide how you want to play it. If you don't feel up to going through the entire BG2 story again, just don't do it ![]()

I agree on what have been said, use SK to get the items you want. After all, you have gone through the game, having the items you wanted to. It should not be considered cheating taking back something you already sort of have.

I disagree! I think that each time you play should be a unique experience!
