Just gonna ask some questions about soloing from you guys.

I'm planning on soloing either a Barbarian or Beserker
1. Will mages roast me in TOB.
and
2. What Weaponry should I use?

I recently soloed a barbarian, best solo I've ever done, I would seriously recommend taking the barbarian over the berserker they are far superior. And as for doing well against mages the barbarian rage makes you immune to a lot of mage spells (all mind affecting spells, hold, stun etc as well as maze. Prehaps others I cant remember) armed super speed and the boots of speed the barbarian is easily the fastest moving character in the game. Immune to backstab. Great HP My half orc barbarian had just under 300 when I finished TOB.

The only advantages a berserker has over a barb is he can reach grand mastery in weapons, not really worth giving up all the barb bonuses for.

and you can wear plate, again not worth it seeing as the barb can wear the white dragon armour -2AC

as for weapons my weapons of choice were Crom Faeyr, and the flail of ages when I got to TOB I added the rune hammer+5 and the axe of the unyielding to his weapon slots aswell and just switched over when ever the whim took me.

another thing barbs get some huge damage resistances as they level up resisitances to slashing, peircing, crushing damage

Also if you build him right you dont have to worry about the illithids (always my biggest problem when soloing)

my char

str 19
dex 18
con 19
int 7
wis 12
chr 10

add lots of potions of mind focusing & genius, call on holy might and barbarian rage and you get

STR 25
dex 25
con 25
int 25
wis 12
chr 10

+ immune to psionics always a bonus against illithids

now with characters like this the darn illithids dont stand chance

I also Agree with every thing here as well. I am soloing a barbarian right now I am on WC level 4 and he is flying through everything.
How did you get little under 300 HP the best I thought is 250 points with the pale green Ioun stone?
Anyways this is a very fun class to play. And for me the weapon of choce has to be the warblade this thing is made for barbarians. Give it a try.
