I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed that monks are great for puttin' the hurt on golems. I am not sure at what level this happens, 10-12 or so, but monks hands become the equal of magical weapons. My monk Werm, at about level 23 or so, is one bad dude. In BGII I would sometimes send him in alone to battle because he is so resilient regarding magical attacks, etc. Sometimes I will even send him solo in after a few golems!

Yep, completed solo with Monk. A bit softly, softly at first until the levels increased. But then - High AC adjusters and to-hit adjusters. Great magic resistance. High movement and attack rate. Need I say any more!!!
Only down-side, it got a bit boring not be able to cast those high-level spells!!! Carry-on gaming...

Monks are sweet! But boring to play.

Yes they sure are. I was amazed, having been so accustomed to scaping to try and find weopons to ding these puppies. Then I finally tried out a monk and low and behold, the guy was taking down dreaded Adamantine golems by himself with his fists and feet. A very nice surprise. I agree that with a Monk you don't get the kind of play variety as you would with a dual Kensai/Mage, Theif/Mage ectetera, but I am still having a lot of fun with him. It is fun being able to take high level opponents down with your fists and feet.

Yeah, Monks may be weak at lower levels but they wreak havok at the later levels. I'm not sure about how effective they are at ToB though.
