at the high hedge thylanther is selling a horn and claw of kazgaroth.

and they have a hefty price tag!

has anyone bought these items before?

do their positives out weigh their negatives?

in other words... are they worth buying??

I always get them both:

Claw of Kazgorath
(+1 AC (+4 vs. missles), all saving throws at +3 except -4 vs. Death, -2 Constitution)

The only real bad part about this, is your health drops rapidly, so give it to a front line fighter with HIGH health. The death saving throw is not that good also... Defo worth it!
-----
Horn of Kazgorath
(Immune to 1st & 2nd level spells, +2 all saving throws, +5 AC vs. missles, lasts 18 seconds)

This is also amazing, but as you see lasts 18 seconds. The disadvantages are not "labelled", so I dont know. Still worht getting for the big fights!

i tried out the horn on the flesh golems at high hedge. and i think they only hit me once (very minimal - 2pts) but once it wore off they really started to pulvarize me.

i guess i'll have to plan ahead on big fights.

also are there any limitations to how many times you can use them, like...charges??

The Horn never really appealed to me, but the Claw is definitely worthwhile, if you plan your character to accomodate the Claw. For instance, if you make a Fighter->Cleric, it's perfect. Start out as a Fighter with 18 CON, get to the level you want, then Dual and put on the Claw. Clerics don't get extra hitpoints for any CON past 16 anyway, and they also have really good Saves vs. Death, so the disadvantages of the Claw are neatly counterbalanced.

Disadvantages of giving the Claw to Yeslick: It'll hurt his hitpoints (by a little bit) when he levels up as a Fighter. Get around this by removing it before he Levels Up as a Fighter. What is Yeslick's CON, anyway? I usually use Branwen, instead.
