When I heard that Foebane exists in Throne of Bhaal, I was very excited! Think about it! The legendary sword of Captain Fflar which he used in defend of Myth Drannor!! The blue flame light sword sheds, and other amazing abilities of this magic sword. But in BG2, I saw that Foebane is a little bit (!?) changed, it's just a +3 sword which deals more damage to undead nothing special more than this. You may be still confident with this BASTARD sword but I'm sure you'LL share my feelings when you see its true power below..

FOEBANE +4

Foebane is a bastard sword +4 which can be wielded with a single hand. When wielded, Foebane sheds a blue light. Foebane causes an extra 1d8 damage to undeads, non-prime material creatures and evil beings.

The +4 bonus of the Foebane is not only added to both Thaco and Damage. It's also can be added to saving throws. One of the most appealing ability of the Foebane is its reflecting ability. The wielder of the Foebane rolls 1d8 each round and if he rolls more than the level of the spell, the spell can be reflected by %100. If it's equal to the level of the spell, they both are being effected by the spell.

Also, owner of Foebane can cast "Feather Fall" and "Jump" twice a day.

More over, Foebane can drain the life force of victim once a day. In this case, sword causes double damage and the damage is added to owner's hit point.

Foebane is a sword which is specially made for warriors. A paladin, fighter or a ranger wields Foebane gains +1 to their thacos. If used by an another class it gives -1 to Thaco.

Foebane which is one of the legends Of Myth Drannor, has at last one more ability.. Foebane can guard its owner. Foebane has a thaco of 6, HP of 77, Movement:24 Flying.

Well, that's all about this legendary sword. Please feel the legend of this sword and know its value.

You can upgrade the sword if you find the scabbard that goes with it, for some nifty bonuses that more closely resemble the ones you speak of. Especially the life-draining effects.
