I'm trying to do the quest (I've read others talk about these) where the two demons want each other's hearts, but neither talks to me at all (i.e., no quests), they and their minions just ATTACK. Anyone have any ideas why?

One of them won't speak to you if you're good. But no matter, just kill them. More exp probably that way anyway.

Is there any dialogue before they attack? How sure are you that you've found the right fiends?

I think that if your main character is one of the good alignments (or maybe if rep if high enough) they'll start a dialogue, then say something to the effect that you're too good, and attack.
