The weirdest thing...

I started a new game, and Irenicus said the weirdest things while torturing me like, "you're not going to throw rocks at me are you?", and "I want to got to the Underdark, its cool down there!" Any explenation as to what just happened?

Heh, that almost sounds like Neeber or Noober, whichever he is.

You've probably installed some mods in the wrong order and screwed up your dialog.tlk file.

If you took backups of the important files before installing your mods, then restore them and reinstall your mods in the correct order (see forum FAQ).

If not, you'll need to reinstall. I normally get one or two glitches per game which don't really affect me, if it doesn't happen again then don't worry about it.

I find it to be pretty hilarious. Irenicus asked Imoen to sign his shirt, and she said only for the right compensation. The conversations are absoluty comical.

It sounds like you've installed the ease of use mod. One part of it (can't remember which part) will shorten the intro scenes and replace them with the dialog you mentioned.

From Karzak and Blucher and aVENGER. If you're replaying the game for the Nth time, these save precious minutes. In general this skips or shortens cut-scenes and dream sequences. You can also speed up your first encounter with Gaelan Bayle by saying (3) "Yes, show me to your home." and then (5) "Very well, I'll be back with the money."

It sounds like you just installed everything without looking. I suggest you reinstall it and make weidu (a)sk about each component. I don't like the disable traps n locks component, so I always ask about each one.
