Tanar'ri? it's a Demon, isn't it? well, I have never had much problems with demons... simply throw my front men at them with a few minor buffs (haste, def harmony, etc) not sure if you don't need a +1 weapon, or even a +2 weapon, to actually hit the Demon... not much of a help, but if I find that out...
::speaking with an austriac-metallic-non-modulated tone:: I'll be back. back with thy answers. according to Sixo'Spades and Dron_Cah most valuable tips: Demons require +3 weapons or better, and they recommend Bless, Chant and Free action, as well as Haste for the total Demon pwnage. p.s. feeling helpful today, heh. Prot. from Evil makes your char kind of Invisible to any Evil creature until you attack them or does it provides any special protection from Evil monsters?

It does make you invisibil to the pit fiends, but not to the Tanar'ri. At least it didn't for me.

improve haste your fighter, cast resist fear, then free action your fighter.
tanari have fear spells, stun ability...

i think he means the first tannari you meet outside the planar sphere. summons will take out his little pesky pets while your tanks pound him.
