How to defeat Irenicus ?

Hi there,

I was wondering if someone could give me some tips on how to defeat Irenicus in the asylum.

He summons a bunch of clones to defend himself and it's hard to tell friend from foe, before I can attack him I'm usually dead, should I concentrate on him and ignore the clones or try and attack everything?,I'm pulling my hair out with frustration if I die one more time I'll put my fist through the monitor.

Any help would be good as I can't afford to buy a new monitor at the moment.

I do not remember having much trouble with this fight. Perhaps you could share with us what your party is like?

You can tell whos the clones by the ring under each character, cant you?

* you aint going to kill Irenicus in this battle so do not waste to much energy against him. Dont kill the 'mad' characters you enlisted to help you. Just kill the clones of yourself and go from there.. Spread out and keep your raise dead enabled cleric alive at all costs

Run to the back of the room, kill the clones of you, dispel Irenicus's protections, shoot at him with arrows of piercing making sure to stay out of his way as much as possible.

If you don't free the loonies, your entire party dies instantly as soon as Irenicus sees you, so the answer to your question is yes.

Jon-boy is a total pushover. As soon as you can, fire a Magic Missile or other fast attack (such as missile weapons) at him--a good tactic against any spellcaster. This will usually ensure that his first spell fizzles, and considering how many people in the room want to kill him (you, your other party members, Wanev, Dradeel, Aphril, Naljier Skal, and Tiax), he's not going to have much of a chance to do anything. Wanev alone pretty much wins the battle for you. Irenicus's only advantages in this fight are
1) He can't die,
2) He can summon up a group of clones (of your party) and a group of Murderers to keep you busy, and
3) All of your loony-allies will die instantly as soon as Irenicus realizes he's lost the fight.

Your difficulties with fighting the clones, specifically recognizing who is who, is because you haven't assigned any AI to your party members. Go to your Records page, hit "Customize," then "Script," and choose "Default Attack," which means that your character will attack any hostile creature it sees, with whatever weapon you happen to have equipped at the moment. Do this with every party member, and the Clone Fight quickly becomes a slaughter of Your Party vs. 6 Bozos who came to a Battle Without any Weapons or Armor.

Thanks for the help,I've finally managed to do it.

I think my biggest problem was the share number of characters on screen cunfusing me and Irenicus taking magical pot shots at my party members while they were engaged in battle with the clones.

Remember that the clones have no armor or weapons.

I remeber once casting Power Word: Blind on Irenicus...he couldnt cast spells at me, so the fight was pretty much won as soon as it began
