I haven't been here in forever but just finished BG2 SOA after about 2 years on and off. Anyway, I installed Darkest Day and was thinking about playing back through before even going on to TOB.

I chose a fighter Archer as my main character, an elf (of course). I'm out of the dungeon, just got the quest to raise the bounty to free Imoen, but I want to mix up my party more. Last night I kicked Jaheira out on a whim (I dislike those druid quests) and took the assassin at the Copper Coronet. Will this lawful evil character cause a lot of problems if I leave Aerie and Minsc in the group? Will my reputation suffer? I just don't want a large bickering party that will fall apart. I can go back to another save if that sounds like a bad move. Any thoughts appreciated. I haven't really experimented a lot.

I must say I'm impressed to see you registered for IW in 2002, and your first post was in 2004. It's always appreciated when someone takes the time to familiarize themselves with the culture of the forum (for at least 2 full years) before they go posting.

I'm pretty sure Adario the assassin will obey the leader, even if it means traveling with the likes of Aerie and Minsc. It's in Adario's best interests to stay in the company of a powerful spawn such as yourself. Adario has about 3 or 4 encounters that will happen. Now, Aerie and Minsc might not like carrying out Adario's assignments, but hopefully they'll stick with you. If not, you can have Adario backstab before the door hits 'em in the arse on the way out.

As TDD mod commonly presents certain bugs (mostly broken quests and NPC's that fail to appear where/when they should), which can be fixed with CLUA commands if you know what you're missing, I recommend keeping the TDD walkthrough handy. If you feel like something's not working right, or a quest isn't launching, check the walkthrough and see what should be happening. If you have a problem and need help with a bug workaround, ask me.

The walky also lists all the NPC's available in TDD. You may want to keep Adario for a while, and later trade him for someone else, so you can try all the NPC's and their associated quests.

Yeah, two years but I've lurked periodically in Ironworks since I played the first IWD. It is a very useful site and seems to have grown quite a lot.

Ok, I will keep Adario and see what happens. He has some really good lines. Sometimes this alignment stuff gets me a little fed up, it seems a little cartoonish. I prefer a greyish world but this one is definitely more entertaining than many, many others.

I've got the TDD walkthrough, if I run into any bugs I'll be back to ask. Thanks

Hrrrm.... do I detect a hint of sarcasm? Perhaps nytharloteepee wanted to be a hybrid lurker member thingy ==> the new breed of IW members!

Although, waiting 2 years before you can post might hamper the numbers of this elite group

This isnt a dig, just havin' fun amusing myself
