problem with Anomen romance (spoilers)

Grr. I think I need to reload a save. Here's what happened:

1: Anomen got knighted.
2: Did de'Arnise quest. Anomen gave me the flower, admits he likes me. Romance is a go. [img]smile.gif[/img]
3: Did Windspear Hills, saved Taar.
4: Talked to Anomen. Anomen wants me to save Taar. But Taar's already been saved. Firkraag isn't dead yet.
5: Killed Firkraag.
6: Anomen doesn't talk to me anymore.

It's been 10-20 days since Windspear Hills. We're about to leave for Chapter 4. Did I miss a dialogue, or is it going to be a heckuva long time before the next one? For people who've done the romance, whereabouts did this next dialogue happen? And is there any way I can force it with the console if it's a bug? Still a few bugs in the system...

EDIT: I'm in Chapter 4, and just acquired my slayer powers. I had the dream, woke from it, and Anomen was there comforting me until the Slayer tried to rip out his aorta. Is this a good sign? (The comforting, not the aorta.)

hmm...i never got very far in that romance except when i had a bug where the whole thing was over in like 10 minutes...he wouldn't stop talkning!

Most romance dialogue are disabled in Chapter 4-5. Take some time to smell the roses in Chapter 6 to see if anything new happens. Despite what will happen, there is no rush to complete Chapter 6.

I'm in Chapter 6 now. I tried sleeping, and got another dream from someplace. Why I was in a tree, who knows. I'm tempted to leave BG2 running all night to see if that will bring on more dialogue, or sleeping a lot more. I wonder what triggers it...

You can always save a game first then proceed to the Graveyard. If Bodhi kidnaps Anomen, your romance is a-okay. If not, you can try the following.

1) Go back to his father's estate to see if anything new crops up.

If that fails too, then you can use CLUA to check your romance status. You will need to wait for the those versed in CLUA codes to notice this first though.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I've played out the Anomen romance quest and have had these same bugs. I don't think he'll say anything more about Garron's son. Did you initiate that dialogue, or did he say it on his own?

With all the characters, they eventually run out of things to say. You should have a few more things happen in your plot with him though. As the other person said, if Bodhi takes him, then the romance is still on.

I talked to him twice and got the message. This was my character hitting the "talk" button and conversing with him. Strangely enough, both times were after we killed the mage who had Taar's cell key and set Taar free but before we killed Firkraag. And we killed Firkraag by speaking to him again and cheesing him off. Was I supposed to get a quest from someone to kill him?

I want to see how the romance evolves, and I'm waiting to see what happens with the Infamous Night™, but I'm afraid that the chance for that has already come and gone, seeing as how I'm in chapter 6.

As far as I know you did everything right. I've heard of other people getting that same error. I've been assured that it's not something to worry about.

Last time I played (I've started completely over since then) I eventually ran into a Knight wanting Anomen to report to the Order of the Radiant Heart, to find out if he would be admitted. And he was already a part of it, already Sir Anomen, already had the alignment shift to Lawful Good. From then on I kept strategically ignoring the knight (I can't even recall his name), because I had the horrifying thought that I'd be doing all the other aspects of the romance quest with him again. I'm hoping that error will not return now that I've started anew.
