I thought it would be a good idea to post a quick list of commonly used BG2 acronyms and what they mean, to prevent any requests for explanations. If you want to add anything, PM me or post here. Warning, minor item spoilers ahead.

AC = Armour Class, how well protected you are from weapons.

ADHW = Abi-Dalzim’s Horrid Wilting, 8th Level Mage Spell.

AoP = Amulet of Power, an amulet.

ApR = Attacks per Round, how many attacks your character can make with his weapon each round.

CC = Copper Coronet, an inn in Athkatla.

CF = Most often standing for Celestial Fury, a katana, but also sometimes Crom Faeyr, a hammer.

CoP = Cloak of Protection +1 or Cloak of Protection +2.

DoE = Defender of Easthaven, a flail accessible with the Merchant Upgrade patch.

DuHM = Draw upon Holy Might, innate ability, 2nd Level Cleric Spell.

FoA = Flail of Ages, a flail.

GoES = Gauntlets of Extraordinary Specialisation, ToB only.

HiS = Hide in Shadows, thief skill.

HLA = High Level Ability, abilities gained at high levels [img]tongue.gif[/img] , ToB only.

MAA = Melf’s Acid Arrow, a 2nd Level Mage Spell.

MI = Mirror Image, 2nd Level Mage Spell.

MM = Magic Missile, 1st Level Mage Spell.

MMM = Melf’s Minute Meteors, 3rd Level Mage Spell.

MoD = Mace of Disruption + 1 or +2, a mace.

MS = Move Silently, thief skill.

NRD = Nahal's Reckless Dweomer, 1st Level Wild Mage Spell, ToB only.

PI = Project Image, 7th Level Mage Spell.

PM = Private Message, nothing to do with BG2, however. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

RoP = Ring of Protection +1, Ring of Protection +2 or (ToB only) Ring of Protection +3.

RoV = Robe of Vecna, a robe accessible with the Merchant Upgrade patch.

SK = Shadow Keeper, an editing program.

SoA = Shadows of Amn, the game this forum is based on.

SoS = Shadows over Soubar, a popular mod (or Ironwork's very own SixOfSpades )

SotA = Shield of the Archons, 7th Level Cleric Spell. Rarely used.

SotM = Staff of the Magi, a staff.

SS = Spider Spawn, 4th Level Mage Spell.

THAC0 = Your chance-to-hit AC 0.

TDD = The Darkest Day, a popular mod.

ToB = Throne of Bhaal, SoA Expansion pack.

WK = Watcher's Keep, a dungeon, ToB only.

Thanks for the list PCGiant, I started a similiar thread a day ago... because I did not know all the specific acronyms on this forum.

Also Vedran had a great link in that Thread with various acronyms.
