I thought it would be a good idea to post a quick list of commonly used BG2 acronyms and what they mean, to prevent any requests for explanations. If you want to add anything, PM me or post here. Warning, minor item spoilers ahead.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ <Font color="white">AC</font> = Armour Class, how well protected you are from weapons. <Font color="white">ADHW</font> = Abi-Dalzim’s Horrid Wilting, 8th Level Mage Spell. <Font color="white">AoP</font> = Amulet of Power, an amulet. <Font color="white">ApR</font> = Attacks per Round, how many attacks your character can make with his weapon each round. <Font color="white">CC</font> = Copper Coronet, an inn in Athkatla. <Font color="white">CF</font> = Most often standing for Celestial Fury, a katana, but also sometimes Crom Faeyr, a hammer. <Font color="white">CoP</font> = Cloak of Protection +1 or Cloak of Protection +2. <Font color="white">DoE</font> = Defender of Easthaven, a flail accessible with the Merchant Upgrade patch. <Font color="white">DuHM</font> = Draw upon Holy Might, innate ability, 2nd Level Cleric Spell. <Font color="white">FoA</font> = Flail of Ages, a flail. <Font color="white">GoES</font> = Gauntlets of Extraordinary Specialisation, ToB only. <Font color="white">HiS</font> = Hide in Shadows, thief skill. <Font color="white">HLA</font> = High Level Ability, abilities gained at high levels [img]tongue.gif[/img] , ToB only. <Font color="white">MAA</font> = Melf’s Acid Arrow, a 2nd Level Mage Spell. <Font color="white">MI </font>= Mirror Image, 2nd Level Mage Spell. <Font color="white">MM </font>= Magic Missile, 1st Level Mage Spell. <Font color="white">MMM </font>= Melf’s Minute Meteors, 3rd Level Mage Spell. <Font color="white">MoD</font> = Mace of Disruption + 1 or +2, a mace. <Font color="white">MS</font> = Move Silently, thief skill. <Font color="white">NRD</font> = Nahal's Reckless Dweomer, 1st Level Wild Mage Spell, ToB only. <Font color="white">PI </font>= Project Image, 7th Level Mage Spell. <Font color="white">PM </font>= Private Message, nothing to do with BG2, however. [img]tongue.gif[/img] <Font color="white">RoP </font>= Ring of Protection +1, Ring of Protection +2 or (ToB only) Ring of Protection +3. <Font color="white">RoV </font>= Robe of Vecna, a robe accessible with the Merchant Upgrade patch. <Font color="white">SK </font>= Shadow Keeper, an editing program. <Font color="white">SoA </font>= Shadows of Amn, the game this forum is based on. <Font color="white">SoS </font>= Shadows over Soubar, a popular mod (or Ironwork's very own SixOfSpades :D ) <Font color="white">SotA </font>= Shield of the Archons, 7th Level Cleric Spell. Rarely used. <Font color="white">SotM </font>= Staff of the Magi, a staff. <Font color="white">SS</font> = Spider Spawn, 4th Level Mage Spell. <Font color="white">THAC0</font> = Your chance-to-hit AC 0. <Font color="white">TDD</font> = The Darkest Day, a popular mod. <Font color="white">ToB</font> = Throne of Bhaal, SoA Expansion pack. <Font color="white">WK </font>= Watcher's Keep, a dungeon, ToB only. I prefer to write CFury and CFaeyr to prevent confusion.
