Answer me these questions three! : 2

So, once again I have accumulated three questions which I hope you can help me with. LOL, all you veterans of Answer me these questions three!: 1, feel free to toss in a comment or two....again.

Question #1. I get the impression that I've never used the Turn Undead ability to its full extent possible. What does it do, and what level does the caster have to be for it to be worthwhile?

Question #2. WHAT THE HELL IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN IN EDWIN'S QUEST FOR THE NETHER SCROLL?!??! I go get it for him, he says I'll never see it, yadda yadda. And so far nothing has happened. Isn't he supposed to decode it or something?

Question#3. I have a Monk, hes low level, bout ten methinks. Can he ever go dual class, and if so when? (yeah, hes human btb

)

1-For good and neutral clerics, it banishes undead creatures, killing them instantly. Evil clerics convert them to your side.
Higher your level is, more powerful undead you'll be able to destroy/convert. If you're too low level for that specific type of undead, you'll just scare him (or nothing).
After Watcher's Keep, Viconia converted liches. That is enough to say, ain't it?

2-He is supposed to decode it. I'll try to find how much time does it take.

3-Monks cannot dualclass. Dual class must be a valid multiclass combination (apart from F/M/T and F/M/C, obviously).

Turn Undead and Sanctuary totally hose the game in your favour. Level 20ish Cleric going through Bhodi's Lair can make vamps explode into chunky meaty bits by just looking at them. Ever seen a hot dog in a microwave? Oh yeah, we got that sorta action going on.

2.- In my case nothing, but maybe you have that be mage.

After two days, he is supposed to say that he managed to translate it partially.
After another day, he should have completed it.

well, i've had him for about three weeks, is there any way to force him to decode it? What do you mean, edwina?

there's a known bug where he never decodes it...baldurdash has a fix out on it. also, you'll understand my comment when he does decode it

In my experience, the quests that take the longest to complete (Edwin's quest, Jaheira's quest, Anomen's quest, and all of the Romances) have the greatest potential to develop bugs, which will instantly grind the quest to a halt. Even worse, if a bug screws up Anomen's or Jaheira's romance, their non-romance quest gets jacked too, and vice versa.

I know for a fact that Turn Undead Level 18 is when Good and Neutral Clerics and Paladins can start exploding Liches. It's not guaranteed to work at that level (it's a percentage thing), but I've done it, and had a good deal of fun, too. Don't expect it to work on Kangaxx, though.
