Sorry about the dozens of questions, but i can't use the search function to find old posts. What do I have to sacrifice to demigoron to release the five? Is it related to the part of the kautoa temple ruins where they offer sacrifices to their gods? Or are those two different quests?

Any summoned creature would do fine I think. I usually use my Book of infinite spells and summon a wyvern with wyvern call.

Huh?! Wyvern's Call is pathetic.
Both True Sight and Spell Turning are vastly superior to it.

That depends entirely upon your play strategy. I tend to use a lot of fodder, so having a freebie fodder spell is great. Spell Turning is arguable, of course, but as far as True Sight goes, I usually have Keldorn in my party so I have the three "freebie" True Sights which are about all I need before it's time to rest again anyway.

I usually don't actually use summons. But then, my tanks can usually cast spells, since I have Jaheira, Minsc and Anomen, who can all 'Armour of Faith' and 'Barkskin' and the like.

However, when it comes down to use summons, I prefer the better spells of the range; 'Summon Planetar', 'Summon Efreti', 'Summon Hakeshar' etc.

Funnily enough, the only summoning spells I ever use begin with 'Summon'. I never use 'Monster Summoning I/II/III', 'Animate Dead' or 'Wyvern Call', and I never use Demon Spells.

EDIT: Also, I hare Wyvern Call, but my friend loves it so much I had to make him an item for Icewind Dale that casts it because he wasn't a high enough level to cast it himself!!!

Just a note...Devas and Planetars can only be summoned with ToB installed.

On that note, yes, I prefer the Devas and Planetars best. Efreeti are good against cold-based monsters (turn one loose in the "cold room" in Planar Sphere and have a field day!) Hakeshari and Nishiruu are great against enemy spellcasters. Still, some low-level "fodder" like wyverns, ogres, gnoll elites, hobgoblin elites, etc. are great against boss "baddies" like Firkraag, Thaxxie, and even Irenicus in the final battle. It's why I always keep a charged-up Wand of Monster Summoning around...always comes in handy.
