I'm calling it!
Well folks, I'm tired and have to prepare for tomorrows dry run. Am teaching a 6 hour block that I have not taught in over seven months, and man are their some cobwebs and rusty spots!
Irregardless of the final outcome, it will be a historic one. No matter who shall be the popular vote president elect, the country will head in a different direction. And as Americans, we should strive to make our politicians work their arse off to deserve the right to serve as as our public servants. To our allies, our support may not be as strong as it once was. To our adversaries, our tenacity may not be as strong as it once was. To the world, we will change directions, but it may not be in the way you might think. Good Night, and thank you all for providing some good laughs over the last several days, as well as some vitriolic rhetoric intermixed with gracious patriotism! http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/files/s...CTION=POLITICS

Re: I'm calling it!
Dude, wtf are you on about? Lol.
Irregardless of the final outcome (in the tense you wrote it). - Mcain gave his concession speech 10minutes ago. It's over. But you can tell you were behind Mcain. Thank God for this " To our allies, our support may not be as strong as it once was. ". Can't wait for America out of Iraq. Then we can leave. And this - " To the world, we will change directions, but it may not be in the way you might think." Mate, any change of direction for America atm would be awesome. Any change from Bush. Backwards would be the best way, and pretend Bush never happened at all. Who cares what direction America goes in? The fact it wont go the same way as Bush is a godsend. That post sounding insulting on a re-read, wasnt meant as it. Its 5am, stayed up watching this and im tired. So no offence Felix

One could argue that it's not "official" yet, but all that remains is formalities. Just my random 2 pennys.
Not arguing the fact that Obama is the new president, just pointing out a tiny technicality.

Re: I'm calling it!
I am not sure how real it is - although I like to think it's more truthful, but McCain's concession speech was quite humble and...nice. I guess like the reporter said, a classy speech.

Re: I'm calling it!
Ah, again people, you have jumped to conclusions!
Barack Hussein Obama is *ONLY* the president elect. That is not an office, only a title! He can fill the office of the president on January 20 2009, but *SOME* things must happen before then. Lav, you act as thou if Sen. McCain had won, we would not change? His plan was not the same as W's, and therefore, no matter who won, change was coming. The president elect already faces his first campaign challenge. The Iraqi military advisors say they need assistance for at least three more years! Almost twice as long as his predicted out in 16 months campaign rhetoric. Looks like you will remain there for the foreseeable future as well. By then, other hostilities may uprise, and the new America may not be available to commit. If you find your troops cold, wet and alone, that is the change you wanted!
