So, I went to visit my maternal grandfather over the weekend, because he had his truck in a car show. Something of a misnomer, I realize...

Anyway.

He didn't enter it in the contest this time, but he has won several 1st place trophies with it, and I figured I'd share with some relatively small pictures.

This is, obviously, the front of the truck. It is a 1951 model Chevrolet truck, restored to it's original color.

My grandfather put 2 years of work into the truck, which has about 30,000 actual miles on it, and still has the original engine, a straight six-cylinder.

Here you see the fanciest part of the truck, the bed. I was afraid to move the card table to get a better shot---I sure didn't want to scratch anything!

That is very pretty indeed. So tell me. Do the grandkids still get any attention?

And at 30,000 miles plus... That must be some kind of record. They sure don't build 'em like they used to.

The grandchildren (and great-grandchildren) get some attention, still

I'm still kind of amazed this truck even exists...it's 54 years old! That's less than 600 miles (roughly 1000 km) a year. I would put that on a car in a month, living where I do.
