So, I went to visit my maternal grandfather over the weekend, because he had his truck in a car show. Something of a misnomer, I realize...
Anyway. He didn't enter it in the contest this time, but he has won several 1st place trophies with it, and I figured I'd share with some relatively small pictures. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...te/Truck1a.jpg This is, obviously, the front of the truck. It is a 1951 model Chevrolet truck, restored to it's original color. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...ate/Truck2.jpg My grandfather put 2 years of work into the truck, which has about 30,000 actual miles on it, and still has the original engine, a straight six-cylinder. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...ate/Truck3.jpg Here you see the fanciest part of the truck, the bed. I was afraid to move the card table to get a better shot---I sure didn't want to scratch anything! [ 09-12-2005, 09:08 PM: Message edited by: Ilander ] |
Oh man...that's a classic.

That is very pretty indeed. So tell me. Do the grandkids still get any attention? :D
And at 30,000 miles plus... That must be some kind of record. They sure don't build 'em like they used to. |
The grandchildren (and great-grandchildren) get some attention, still ;)
I'm still kind of amazed this truck even exists...it's 54 years old! That's less than 600 miles (roughly 1000 km) a year. I would put that on a car in a month, living where I do. |
