This is wrong and a distortion of my perspective. I have never called Christians evil or hate filled. In my second to last post I clarified that I was using hyperbolic language in using the term 'hatefilled'. When I did use the term hate-filled previously, I did not use it to directly target Christians.

And it is slightly insulting to refer to homosexuality as a "lifestyle". Although I doubt you mean it to be.

The accusations that I am anti-christian that keep cropping up around here are becoming like harrassment. I get them in PMs and I get them in public, now from a moderateror no less.

Chewie- no offense meant! But, this is one reason I suggest a step away from the topic. My post was not meant to be aggressive or attacking in any way but you seem to have taken offense at it. A sure sign a breather is in order.

I simply see a circular debate on a topic that has in the past and most likely will again, caused alot of heat and keeps coming around and around. There is currently a ban on religious debates and I see this off-topic line of debate turning into just that from the responses that Cerek has made and most likely would have to keep making in response to your posts.

So if I misapplied your reference 'hate filled', I apologize, but again, I've seen this same argument several times with same and other participants and it seems to keep hitting a stone wall. Since the atmosphere here is tense these days, I asked that it be approached in private.

It's ok Cloudy, I'm not riled up at all. Perhaps I just seem that way. I am actually quite calm, listening to Chopin and relaxing on a day off.

I agree with you and with TL that we are at an impasse on the various topics.

Agreeance to disagree is good enough for me.

I dont want to engage in these discussions via PM.
There is too much leeway for abusive language in PMs and I would rather continue to relax and discuss other topics in an open atmosphere.

Since this thread seems to have run its course, perhaps it should be locked?

Cheers.

Good...maybe you'd be happier discussing Chopin? I dunno, is Chopin very controversial?

Seriously, Chewie...thank you. I was worried you were getting angry over every little thing and I had no intention of 'baiting' you or insulting you in either of my posts above. Just trying to keep some peace and avoid overheated threads.

And we're not in the least surprised that a thread discussing the problems this forum is facing turned into part of the problem that this forum is facing.

It was destined from it's creation to contain this attitude.

Closing the thread now, as was recommended.

I had high hopes that we could avoid having to lock this thread. I left this forum and this thread on the weekend thinking that we'd all had our 2c and we'd all had a chance to have a whinge and get it out of the system and move on. But again you lot have met my expectations of your inability to indulge in what to me is a basic human attribute - self-control.

Just couldn't let it go and walk away, could you? Chewy, Cerek, and Timber, you guys all need to settle down. Don't bother PMing me justifying your positions in this particular debate - in this particular case I'm not interested in hearing whose fault it supposedly was. I don't care about which of you is feeling persecuted as I'm sure you're all feeling persecuted. All I care about right now is the fact that we YET AGAIN have a thread spiraling downwards, for whatever reason, which has to be closed because the participants' incapability to control their own actions in posting to it. All you're doing is proving to me that as a group you're not mature and responsible enough to regulate and moderate yourselves and you need a nanny to look after you and tell you to stop throwing stones at each other. You want to be treated like adults and have a forum where you're given the freedom to express your opinions? Well bloody well act like adults and take some responsibility for what this forum is coming to, and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

I'm the coolest and most laid-back of people, but sometimes you guys IRRITATE the living shyzen out of me at how you can't seem to be able to deal with each other in a civilised manner. I don't give a flying frazzoo if you don't like each other, this isn't a dating service - but I expect you to be able to resolve issues like adults, not like 3yos who have to be told what to do. Bloody hell it's not that hard is it?

Disappointed fellas. Please remember yourselves and your ages next time.
