I've enjoyed playtesting this. The combat between the duergar groups and the thieves adds quite a bit of atmosphere to CI. A couple notes from a quick go-around with your files: Since I tend to playtest using stealth based characters to get a feel for an area, I tried this with a solo 8th level archer. Difficulty was set to core for a first run through. The duergar were not much of a challenge to this character as the combination of stealth and ranged attack made them fairly easy to pick off. The thieves would have been a much tougher challenge to this character, but they were killed so quickly by the duergar they were not an issue. * I'm running a fully patched installation with the baldurdash fixpack and the tactics, item upgrade and ease of use mods installed which seemed like a fairly typical combination of mods to try out here. 1. Like Rataxes, I am also experiencing the groups spawning immediately upon loading from a quicksave. In my case, however, it has happened 4 consecutive times. 2. I'll also echo his comments about the amount of loot - my character was able to harvest 8 oils of speed and 10 invisibility potions before even getting to the library. The duergar groups simply desstroy the thieves. 3. None of the goblin archers - I encountered at least 4 -- actually fired his bow. The archers simply approached my character as if wanting to engage in close combat - as I was attacking with a ranged weapon this made killing them fairly trivial. 4. I noticed that in the library area, the spawned shadow thieves attacked Illyich and co. as they wandered passed, but that Illyich and his crew acted as if nothing was happening. This resulted in the thieves damaging them and depleting a good number of their healing potions without being damaged themselves until some spawned duergar [after a quicksave was reloaded]took care of them when they followed my character out into the hallways. In my first run through I did not see any spawned duergar in the library. 5. A group of Duergar that spawned after a quicksave was reloaded immediately attacked Rasputin as well as the shadow thieves. I have not finished the first level yet, but these issues seemed to be worth noting and passing along to you. |
