Hmmm... Now that you mention it...

When i listed all these items, i didn't meant a solo Sorcerer specifically - i meant soloing in general.

The Sling is not needed.
Melf's Minute Meteors are soooo much better - they can hurt the named golems, and much, much more.
Definitely worth a slot, IMO.

ADD] Oh, and MMM also works extremely well with Cast & Attack, unlike the Sling. Cast & Attack almost doubles the Mages firepower... Until Improved Alacrity, that is...

Yes but depending on what order you play the game in the Pale Green Ioun Stone is found later into the game. So King Strohm's Helm is useful for a while. Pale Green Ioun Stone isnt just good for mages, its also good for thieves who actually engage in melee combat. Giving really good items to gain low AC on a mage is wasted with a party, as they should never be engaged in melee combat to begin with.

The Sling is infinite. MMM is also infinite, but only with effort. When I see a trapped Adamantium Golem, it is break-time for me.

Eh? I am talking about solo Sorcerers here. If we assume a party, then maybe they will find the KSH first, but when you think about it, why go to Windspear when Pai'Na is for purposes, a total pushover?

A couple Death Spells, one or two Flame Arrows and *gasp*, I have defeated Pai'Na and all her Spiders. Compare this to Windspear Hills. By the way, the PGIS does not improve your AC, it improves your THACO which is always helpful for a Sorcerer using Melf's Minute Meteors and the Sling of Everand.

Back to the Torgal question...Since he's a numbnut and comes running right at you doesn't anyone just lure him out of his room and close the door behind him? I deal with him first like that and then go in and beat up the spirit trolls and co. And don't call me a coward, I have gone in and took care of all of them at once but if Torgal is so cocky why not use that against him. I think it's fair.

Maybe you should try something new Dundee. The SS/Web combo is very potent... but it does detract from the enjoyment. Then again, if it aint broke dont fix it, and the SS/Web combo certainly works... another opinion thing.

BTW, PGIS doens't protect against critical hits(either that or my game is still bugged)

My mistake (i was pretty tired when i wrote that) but +1 THACO + 10%hp is still more valuble to a thief than a mage in a party situation, i didnt realise that you were referring to solo play before. Using the sling of everard for solely killing golems is really quite crazy unless you have other things to do, like have a coffee brake. Minute Ms will run out several times before the big guy dies but that is why you then use the sling of everard once it does so you dont have to then rest/repeat and overall it wastes less play time. I dont have all day to play (with school).

Bug. Placing any item in the Headgear Slot will automatically confer upon you protection from critical hits. This was one of the first few things people discovered when the game came out. Hence the cheesiness of the KSH.
