Iron Throne building - no one there

I am pretty sure the person does not appear on the top floor hallway of the iron throne until you have rescued the head of the Flaming Fist, as well as beaten the assasins in the underceller.

To get to the underceller use the sewers, or a secret entrance in the Blushing Mermaid Inn. Someone correct me on the inn of it is the wrong one.

Duke Eltan can be found upstairs in the Flaming Fist Compound in bed, Scar is dead. You will have to fight your way to get upstairs.

If he is not upstairs with a false healer there is something wrong with your game. You did just come back from Candlekeep correct?

Oh, not THIS problem again!!!

DragonSlayer25, your game thinks that you're still in Chapter 6. To prove it, Load your game, open up your Journal, and you'll see that it's open to Chapter 6. All of the people and objects that have been mentioned in this thread (Duke Eltan, assassins in the Undercellar, etc.) are only placed once Chapter *7* has begun, and that's why they're not there for you.

To fix it: Go back to your oldest Saved game (before you exited the catacombs underneath Candlekeep) and let the game progress normally into Chapter 7. If, however, you don't have a Savegame that far back, then I'm sorry to say that you are most likely screwed. I have yet to see a hack that can force the game to start a new Chapter.

Umm... don't worry DragonSlayer25, SixOfSpades is currently having a memory lapse.

I recently had the same (or very similar) problem which you seem to be experiencing right now, where the game is not initiating Chapter 7 on it's own.

If you read my thread below, you will see that Flaming Fist Enforcer gave me the needed "hack/cheat" so that I could force my game to procede into the next chapter.

You can pretty much skim through the first half of the posts within the below thread, as they probably do not pertain to your problem, but as you read on you will see the "cheat" involves the CLUA Console.

BTW, I'm just curious, do you have an "Experience Cap Remover" installed?

If so, then this would lend evidence to my theory that it is the "Exp Cap Remover" which is to blame for the bug which you and I have experienced.

I didn't just pull this 'theory' out of my arse, I actually have a good reason for why I stated it.

You see, AFTER I used the 'Ctrl + C" cheat command and was able to jump start my Chapter 7 progression, I noticed something which wasn't there before.

The experience total for all of my characters had been reverted back to the 161,000 (I think that's the number) AFTER I used the 'hack/cheat'.

And even though my experience points were reverted back, I had still retained all the other pertinent ability scores and bonuses from my previous leveling up, such as: Health Pts, Saving throws, spell slots, theiving abilities, etc, etc...

So I took a little mental note and when it seemed apparent that DragonSlayer25 had a similar problem, I then thought it would be a good idea to ask him and see if he noticed a similar correlation.

So does my theory "hold water"... probably not, but it was atleast worth a try. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Thanks all!!! Although I did not have a save game that far back I decided to go to where I emerged from the catacombs. There was not a entrance there, so I started to walk toward the gate and the Chapter 7 screen came up. Just out of curiosity(sp?) did any of the people having this problem use the Ctrl-J cheat?I was and thats how I skipped over the point where the Chapter initiated.

Yes, I remember that problem, Heinrich. And Vedran is right. I never had XP cap remover installed in BG1. Anyway, I'm glad I helped you, DragonSlayer, although not directly (btw, you spelled curiosity right ).
