(ooc: run )

~She angrily leapt up, striding over to you.~ "You aren't going anywhere ever again if you don't take that back!" ~Her face was seething with venomous rage. She was hell-bent on defending Axel.~ "You don't know anything about Axel or me or the two of us together!" ~She furiously cast a hand to the door.~ "He's the only person who's ever given a damn about me since I ran away!" ~She turned back to you with narrowed eyes.~ "Even you Murdock! You didn't care about me when you first saw me! You stole the bread from my table and wondered what you could get away with if you slipped something into my drink!" ~Her hands were in tightly clenched fists.~ "And you think Axel's a pig?! Murdock, he's got a right! For three long years all he did was make sure that I was okay! Made sure that I had everything I needed." ~Her breath was growing quicker.~ "He never cared that I was a Macadere, or that I was pretty, or that I cleaned floors grudgingly with his toothbrush!" ~Tears were forming at the corners of her eyes.~ "Even those stories today, they were to protect me! He's just trying to keep you away from me. People like you Murdock. He knows that I could have so much better." ~She furiously brushed away a tear that creeped down her cheek.~ "All I'd have to do is parade back into Macadere..." ~She looked up at you with disoriented features. She wasn't used to being angry.~ "But you don't care. I'm just some insane bitch with a talent for thieving to you. Aren't I? Humor me and be honest with yourself for once Murdock." ~Biting her lower lip, she pushed you back with incredible force onto the bed.~ "You get your precious ■■■■■■■ sleep. I'll let you bask in your glory alone. I'll be downstairs licking my broken heart." ~She slammed the door behind her as she stormed out of the room.~

Murdock

To himself, he said aloud...

"What the hell was I thinking? This isn't going to work! I should have known that this crazy lady would not care a thing for me or to teach me a damn thing! She just wants this half-elf, and she must have only let me tag along because of obligation of a promise after I helped her whining ass back home. That's it...I'm outta here. Stupid crazy, freaking people get me all mixed up in their strange love affairs! I have a life to live and need to make an earning anyway I can. I'll go back home. "

In haste, Murdock scribbles a short memo on a scrap of parchment...

Tell the pendejo chiclan that he is one lucky bastard. And my hopes in seeing that fabled city in the desert will never come true.
Murdock

He drapes his cloak around his shoulders and opens the window. Peering down, he sees nobody close by. Murdock leaped out, and made his way down the building. Once there, he passed through the dark alleys that shielded him from sight with the help of his garment and made his way out of the town, heading back to Talever. He would not make the journey in one night, so he went as far as he could and then left the path for about a mile or two and camped under some thick undergrowth of the forest. He held his prized shortsword to his chest, and sat up agaist a tree, hugged in his own cloak, thankful that the rain had stopped. The cloak of shadows, he deemed it. The only real evidence of his short life with a Macadere resident. His blade, he decided to name Zahara, as it cut as gravely as she did. With those last thoughts, he drifted to sleep.

(ooc: Ah well. I'm sure your next venture will be more worthwhile. I'll hook you up with some elves. Maverick always said humans were bastards.)

~You awoke the next morning to quiet worried mutterings. When you looked up you saw a young elven woman, clad for travel and biting her nails. She was rather small and petite, had shoulder length brown hair and nervous black eyes. When she turned around to see you awake she cried out in surprise.~ "Ai!" ~She jumped back and cupped her hands over her mouth, calling out.~ "Esgal faroth mir! Dusereg! Kilkano! Nimalqua!!!" ~She held her hands in front of her as if in guard. You looked behind your back expecting some terrible dragon. There was none, but you did realize you were in no place like the one you'd bedded in. Footsteps came from the side.~

~A male elf, much taller, and very annoyed strided forward. He rubbed his eyes and cringed. The girl's ramblings had apparently given him a headache. He ran a hand through his thick black hair, listening to the woman's ramblings. At length he rolled his grey eyes and shooed her away.~ "Menelin! Kel hini, iatir edhels?! Uialtir dil rant. Kel! Kel!" ~Finally the man turned to you.~ "Quen edhel?" ~He sighed at your blank stare.~ "Okay, you don't speak elvish!" ~He paused.~ "Or maybe you do... Those were no ordinary bastards getting ready to filet you. I'd reckon they were some of the Macaderes from the trinity... But enough of that, can you understand me?"

"Although I speak no elvish tongue, I usually get this jist of a conversation. I have a few aquantances that I am around frequently, but that is not important now. You said that those of Macadere were attempting to kill me? Can you describe their looks? I have...aquantances from there,,,as well. Oh, and may I stand up, or do I have arrows trained at my chest in case I move?"

~The elf chuckled, holding up a peaceful hand and shaking his head.~ "No, no arrows! Here, let me help you..." ~He offered a hand to help you up.~ "You'll have to forgive your welcome. My sister and I are from Rostil a hidden place of high elves on the edge of Seeker's Lake. This is her first time traveling with my caravan, and suffice to say she hasn't learned much common yet... Really having a hard time with it..." ~He shrugged.~ "As for your captors, I couldn't see so much of them in the dark. Three males, really evil looking chaps. All cloaked in black." ~His brow furrowed.~ "I speak every language from the Red Silence to Lake Narrow, so I know they were Macadere. I couldn't make out what they were screeching though. Just pharoantee, which means in the tongue of snakes, princess." ~He scratched his chin.~ "But I'm sure that means absolutely nothing to you." ~His grey eyes looked at you with suspicion.~ "But who are you that has friends of Macadere? Not many of them wander out, much less talk to men like you and I. Do you perhaps know Byrd Rae'Lani? He's the most pleasant creature to ever come out of that damnable desert and he's done a bit of traveling. I'd be curious if you do, I haven't heard anything out of him since his daughters got abducted. They say one of them lived too! Can't think of her name... Z... Zora? No... Z..." ~His little sister looked warily on from behind a thick-trunked tree.~

Murdock

Murdock cringed at the elf trying to pronounce the syllables he knew.

"Zahara. She ...and...I ....met, and so I was walking with her for a while, but have left her company in the most bitter of moods. Now you tell me that there are assasins out and about trying to find her and kill the heir to this whoever her father is."

Now, quite gloomy and mopingly, he adds...

"I try my best to run from her and still she stays on my trail!!! I am a thief, friend. I robber of gold, jewels, and of ladies' virtues. I am a bad man. So why would I care if ill fell upon another thief?"

Murdock kicked a rock that went sailing long into the air and out of sight.

"Why do I care!!!!" Why can't I live a peaceful evil life again!"

~He shook his head.~ "You misunderstand friend. They don't want to kill her, they want to take her back to the desert." ~He shrugged.~ "You ran away from Macadere's last princess. Those weren't assassins, they were bounty hunters." ~He offered his hand.~ "Regardless, you'll be sticking with us at least until we make it back to the road. I am Celebring, but I'll go by Cal just as quick and uh..." ~He scooted his sister in front of him.~ "This is Mia."

~She tossed a bitter look up at her brother, then looked at you with some intent curiousity. Cautiously she stepped forward. She pointed a hand to herself.~ "Mithia." ~You assumed that was her proper name. She then pointed a hand to you, attempting some shaky common.~ "H-Hu-man?" ~She looked back to her brother in hopeful confusion, smiling brightly as he nodded. She turned back to you.~ "Human!" ~She bit her lower lip, as if trying to recall something detailed.~ "Human... H-have fun... H-have funn-ey..." ~She looked determinedly at the sky for a moment, then snapped her fingers.~ "Human have funny ears!" ~She seemed ecstatic over forming a sentence. She then looked at you questioningly.~ "Human have name?"

Murdock

Smiling at this turn of events, Murdock decided to bow deeply, in the custom that he knew was elvish, and replied,

"My name is Murdock. And you are right. I have funny ears!"

Turning his attention back to her brother, he added,

"And I shall behave myself while in your presence, as you have indeed earned it. Come, let us be off from this place, then."

~Cal looked at his sister and then to you with an expression of disbelief.~ "Mia! You never say anything for me! Have you been studying? Is there a book in that tree?!" ~He smiled.~ "We will be off shortly, I've just got to catch the horses. See if you can't teach her the whole language while I'm gone." ~He walked off, whistling as he picked up some halters.~

~She tested your name.~ "Murdock... Hmmm..." ~She nodded satisfaction.~ "Murdock is n-nice name. Mia w-ill name Murdock elf name... Erran." ~She nodded.~ "Erran nicey elf n-name. F-fitting? Yes fitting. Mean lo... Loney... Lone wan... Wanderey... Wanderer. Yes! Lone wanderer." ~She smiled, looking deep in thought.~ "Mia been stu... Stud-een... Studying. Sur... Surpriz... Surprise Cal. H-hap... Happy? Cal be happy?" ~She looked uncertainly to you for guidance.~
