One of these days, I'm going to buy Hrothgar's Axe from Joluv, and take it to H'rothgar Firehammer in the Five Flagons, and see what he does.....

So she created a fellow from Scotland Yard, and named him Inspector Badgworthy.

Badgworthy, for God's sake!!!
Never forget that Hercule Poirot had a brother called Achille

at least there's no "ryu" or "magnus" in this game...those names pop up too often. I think some of the names in Ogre Battle 64 (i will promote this game until i die, cuz its the best RPG to come out on a console system EVER in terms of gameplay...i've even put it up against all the FF and BOF's...not even close)...anyway, some of those names are catchy.

There is some very interesting information about Ecthelion II (Denethor II's father). He had the aid of a great captain who had come out of Rohan where he was a stranger as well. This captain went by the name of Thorongil. He motivated and helped Ecthelion II marshal his forces against Mordor. After he deafeated the captain of the Corsairs of Umbar, he mysteriously disapeared much to the dismay of Ecthelion II, but said that many tasks awaited him before he returned to Gondor, if that be his fate. I hope you know who Thorongil was.

It was, of course, Aragorn.

Have actually thought about the names you hold up as being bad examples of Tolkiens work. They (mostly) belong to Hobbits, and thats the point, hoobits don't have interesting names, becuase, throughout history they have done little that is interesting. Thorin Oakenshield isn amed so for the use of his shield in battle, and Beleg Strongbow is famous archer. Samwise Gamgee sounds like a daft, country farmer because that's what he is.

The name is used in the SoA manual as a half-elf (or elf) Stalker. Myrddin is a nice name. It's from the celtic name for Merlin (the wizard). It's said Mirthin. L'argenton I made up myself (original for once) I got it off the verb of silver, argent or in French the word for money. Hehe.

Have another little piece of trivia: Between Denethor and Aragorn, which one is older?

Answer: Denethor. By one year. Too bad there's no scene where they actually meet, so we could compare them.
