I don't want to break a bone!

Or do a Harry Potter and have all the bones in my arm disappear!

Steve, what is your teacher "on" and why isn't s/he sharing?

Seriously, ANY injury can be serious if not attended to. More than likely what your teacher was referring to was the effects of shock which can set in on any trauma injury. However, I seriously doubt that any broken bone will automatically cause one to "lose colour and die"; that's laughable. It depends upon the severity of the trauma versus one's own constitutional strength. I've seen people drive themselves to the emergency room with a shattered heelbone (my stepfather, 1984) and have also seen people keel over in a dead faint over a bruised pinky finger.

True, though breaking your thighbone *can* be serious, if only because of it's size and the amount of bone-internal fluids you would lose. Oh, and blood too. Oh, and the sevewre pain would probably send you into shock.

Even so, people get smashed up quite badly in skiing accidents without dying, so it can't be *that* bad.

well i've broken two bone, one once, my finger, and a toe twice, once even severe enough to need a cast! and i'm sure those could not have killed me. heck even the bad break i walked around on for several hours (had somewhere to go) as far as losing color i don;t have much to lose, and i don;t think it effected me

now with your bone breaking christmas present, i talked tot he guy hired personally and he said if you buy him a case of beer he'll forget about it
