Ok I just killed the Warders and whent down to the next level with the locked doors and the books on the floor, and now I'm stuck. The only room I can go into is the doppleganger room, and I don't see what I need to do to unlock the other doors. I would really apreciate some help with this one. Thanks

If memory serves (haven't played Durlags Tower in ages), you kill the dooplangers or somthin, then the "You hear a door open" pops up. you should go into the next room, meet training dummies, get a door to pop up to fight another Dooplanger, get a wardstone and then from then you keep using the stones or keep going to the next room after the "door opens" pops up. Keep doing that, and you'll reach the end. If not, consult the Ironworks BGTotSC online guide.

IIRC, there is a carpet in the room directly south of the stairs you start out with.
On each side of the carpet, there are two statues. You have to USE them (the circular arrows) in order to open some other doors off of the central chamber. |

Yeah, I was stuck in that room with the statues and the doppelganger carpet for a few minutes on my first trip, too. The problem is that the "Operate This Device" icon looks so much like the "You Can't Walk Here" icon that I didn't notice any difference at all, and thought I was really stuck. Tips: Move your mouse SLOWLY, and move it EVERYWHERE. You're going to be doing this all through the lower floors of Durlag's. There are other devices to be used, as well; it took me forever to find the damn forge. I'd walked through the room about 6 times, then finally discovered that thing in the middle was a device that could be used.
I've also found that many of the ToSC areas are MUCH easier if you crank up the Brightness on your monitor.
