On the third floor, I took the helmet in the throne room, hence spawning the dopplegangers and closing the outside door. BUT I had boots of speed on and didn't think the outside door would close, so I ran back into that round room. Now I can't reopen the door to the throne room. Do I have to reload, or is there another way to get in?

Thanks.

You won't have to reload. It'a weird combination of events - one door opening another and so forth. I can't remember at the moment. I'll see if anybody else has answered after I get back in.

Sorry about that. See you later - I'm off out.

Yeah I know.
I figured it out. Thanks.

The first room on the left side of the throne room... man, so many traps!

How do you take negitive damage? Is it like healing? There are a few traps in the south of floor -3 that gave me -3 damage. I didn't think that was possible from traps.

Ok, this is weird! It's a fireball trap... it heals my main guy (my tank fighter), but it damages anyone else (just killed Imoen)... weird

The specifics of it I'm afraid I've never bothered to explore. I know its one of those strange ones (SixofSpades might know - put out a request on the BG2 forum). As for traps, well anything's possible. It might depend on armour class, actual class, statistics, current hit points, alignment - you name it. Durlag's is difficult, but well worth the effort. Trust me.

BTW glad you figured it out. I've just come back from the old nuclear sub, so I don't know how much good I'd be to you ;D

Ah, so that's why you were away for so long, Lord Brass. I think you were actually ahead of me in posts at 1 point.

No need to post on the BG2 forum, I scout this section regularly (semi-daily) as well....although I only tend to post on interesting topics. (Not stuff like "What class should I be?" and "What is this THAC0 thing?")

The most obvious answer to your negative damage from a Fireball, Halbarad, is your character's Fire Resistance. If you crank it over 100%, fire will indeed heal you. Offhand, it sounds like you had the Helm of Defense, the Ring of Fire Resistance, and a Potion or Scroll of Fire Resistance, while Imoen had....nothing.

I've been up to some new stuff since we last spoke, Lord Brass.....check the link in my sig.
