I don't really know how / if hypnosis works, but what happens if you believe a lie? I mean, for example, if MJ really did molest the child (I'm not saying he did) but he himself truly believed that what he did wasn't molesting, what would he say under hypnosis?
I think it would depend on what was asked. Suppose he did molest the child, but he believed it wasn't molesting, if he was asked 'did you molest the child' he would likely say no, however if he was asked 'did you touch the genitals' or something he may say yesy (supposing hypnosis actually worked and he couldn't lie and so on).

LOL....yes, confessions ARE confidential
This is actually interesting... recently in Australia it came to light that a priest of the Catholic Church who has since been discovered to have molested many children made over 30 visits to a confessional admitting to having molested the children and the priest who heard the confessions did nothing (except give him some rosaries of something for penance). 'Technically' he was right not to break the confidentiality of the confessional but surely there are limits to confidentiality (e.g. as there are for doctors and social workers and mental health professionals)? What do you think?

A friend of mine told me that her priest said that if somebody confessed a crime he should tell somebody else, somebody higher, and they would then decide what to do. But I don't know if that's true...

No, like, err, somebody higher than the priest... not the bishop, but, you know. I don't know what all those people are called. Somebody else anyway.
