Which graphic card should I purchase?

I thought I might buy this one. Remember that the money is in Australian! I don't want to spend more than $200 coz I don't want to get one of those 64mb ones which are like $800 [img]graemlins/1dizzy.gif[/img] [img]tongue.gif[/img] ! So does anyone have any ideas of which one is the best for money?

Invidia GeForce4 Titanium is the best on the market... thats the only one I even CARE about much less know of aside from the "ATI Rave" stuff which I heard works niceley with Open GL, but the GeForce4 is far superior...

Hello!

I found two Australian computer websites which appear to be more professional and offer more variety of choices for you, so you may wish to check them out. Here are their web addresses:

While I used a GeForce 2 MX card for a long time (in fact, I used the Hercules one you're looking at and was very pleased with it), the GeForce 2 MX is really wearing old. Since you specified that you don't wish to spend over $200(au), I took the liberty of browsing the store inventories for you.

If you could find one for a decent price, I'd highly recommend either a GeForce 3 Ti 200 64MB (which I recently purchased) or, if you wait a while longer, for just a little more you could get the GeForce 4 T4200 128MB (or 64MB). Both are the "budget" versions of their respective generation of GeForce hardware, but both have more than enough kick for most current and upcoming games.

However, within you're price range the only solid card I can recommend is the "Leadtek GF2 Titanium 32MB Retail, TH" (That is how both of the online shops I put addresses for list them, just browse under computer hardware in the "video"/"video card" categories) It retails right about $200(au) just like you wished for.

The GeForce 2 Titanium 32MB is probably the most powerful of the GeForce 2 line, and totally dusts the GeForce 2 MX in performance. (comparatively speaking) Why not spend the same as you were willing and get VERY good performance for your money?

Well I've discovered this site. If you scroll down to the Leadtek GF2 SH Pro MX-400 64MB AGP TV - Retail it says it is only $180!(aus) How is this possible..a 64mb graphic card for $180! Although if you go here it only says that it has 32/64MB memory onboard [img]graemlins/1dizzy.gif[/img]

EDIT: BTW, I am considering about buying a PS2 instead of a graphic card..I still haven't decided. Do you people know what is better and more fun in the long run.

MX is a budget version on the "bigger" cards slower and don´t have the punch.

In the higher series the GeForce4 TI420 is soon to be released on the market and it has already the best buy written all over it, a mix between the 440 and the 400 card, but it´s packing incredible punch!

Hercules makes good cards but now adays they have a new version of a none Nvidia processor so I would suggest you too wait until the full reviews are out on thoose ones. A 3,8 Nms GeForce 3TI200 card can easily be overclooked to match the bigger GeForce 3 cards and are dropping the pricetags of sultans now!

I agree that a Geforce 3 Ti or 4 Ti is a better way to go. They'll last a bit longer (gamewise) than a Geforce 2. A Gainward Geforce3 TI 200 (64MB)is a good deal:
