Ive played the demo for the microsoft game:Freelancer and i think its is awsome, and am definately going to buy it, Yet when i read some of the reviews around all i see are bad comments, because they keep compairing the game to "elite" or something like that. So what do you think of the game?
plaese tell me so i know weither to buy or not.

It's a good game. But it's not Frontier:Elite. Frontier:Elite basically didn't have a story. You could just fly around and do jobs. Bounty hunting. Delivering cargo in the nick of time. Mining asteroids and planets. Pirating. You name it. The Universe was just HUGE. Probably over 1000 planets. Maybe over 10,000. I don't really remember anymore.

But it was pretty cool.

This game was supposed to have a lot of that element. But if fell way short. Much more like Privateer, though not quite as open.

Still, I have it and it's fun. But the RPG element is sorely lacking. And there are only a few non-plot NPC voices. And they all say the same thing...

Hm.. I've been told the Single Player campain is too short, and after that it is just 'more of the same'. Still, I might be buying this game myself Might be fun in multiplayer .

I think freelancer is the best game to come out this year.

Very complete and balanced. No bugs.
Anything that gets tedious can be automated.

I havent seen a negative review of it all Ive seen is 80 or above.

DEfinitely a game of the year candidate. The single player campaign is shortish. multiplayer will take up a lot of time exploring the universe and getting all the equipment.

Overall a great game Game of the year candidate.

its a very good game.. i just finished the single player... very good story.. and kinda hard in a way.. and when you finish the single player you can get to explore the entire galaxy although it gets to be boring right away since you do the same thing over and over again... im curious about multiplayer though.. since my internet is kinda slow.. i was hoping other players can fill me in what it is about..

Just played the demo a bit. Im way way below spec, but it runs smooth. Shame that all the instrumentation is glitched to hell.

Seems to be well worth buying, although Im going to have to learn how to shoot in third person. Cant find cockpit view. Cos my instruments are screwed. Sigh.

Whats the multiplayer like? PvP deathmatches or persistent online?

I managed to mod my own version of A****S HF (no spoiler here) and it is sweet~! I might give Milkshape 3D a try and create my custom design but I am still kind of lazy and I have no experience in using 3D rendering applications.

I bought it a few days ago, being the Frontier Elite Freak I am, I couldn't let this game pass me by. In short its Great, its not quite Elite but its a good way to pass the time until Elite 4

Just press [CTRL] + [V] while in the air (at the same time). You'll switch between cockpit and third person.
