There
is an easy way to kill the dragon on Emerald Isle (I´ve forgotten his name ). First lead some dragonflies to Mr. Malwick, the man with a propsition, and let them kill him. Then loot his body for a nice wand. Then head up to the magic shop and save outside. Enter and check for recharge item scrolls. If there are no such scrolls in stock leave, reload and enter again. You will need at least 1 preferrably 2 scrolls. To acquire 2 scrolls you might need to wait until the owner restocks. To do that level up your characters, then save in front of the magic shop again. OK now your are ready to enter the dragon´s cave. When you do, run around the entire cave, hugging the right wall until you are back at the entrance. Then you should be able to sidestep to your right, fire the wand and then take cover before he can breathe his fire at you. When there´s only one charge left in the wand use a recharge item scroll. After the dragon is dead, multiloot him!

Willow, I totally agree. Killing the Dragon is fairly easy and Mr. Malwicks Fireball Wand is an essential element for success.

But taking an armorer along with you is just as important. The Dragon seldom if ever kills in one blow. First he does for your armour and then you. But if you take an armorer, I think that's what they are called, to immediately repair your armour then you can take the Dragon head on with only a few "timed" side steps. I have never had to reload in the cave more than once or twice.

You do have to be cautious using the dragonflies though. I used them to get the musical instrument as well, and ended up almost alone on the island. Had to go back to an ealier save so I could pick up a couple of "live" NPCs. I think the other one I used was to strenthen my "Fate" Spell.

Happy memories...sigh. Still there are more to come if ever I find my way out of the Temple of the Serpent. Going up!? Library please!?

Here's another way how to kill thay dragon without using the wand.
touch the pedestal of god first, press enter to go turn based and saved you game before going into the cave. enter the cave and shoot the dragon with 2 characters only. save your game and reload your game. you will notice your 2 characters that have shoot the arrow can now shoot again. repeat and repeat.

As I said before, I (and 99% of MM7 players) have better things to do than save and reload 1000 times.

So, you asked all the MM7 players, and 99% of them told you they had better things to do?

WOW! I didn't know you had so much resources! Wait... You didn't ask me...

Just because you don't like to loot the dragon does not mean other players don't. Don't talk for them.

HolyWarrior, While I recognise that "1000 times" is hyperbole, or should be, it is stll a gross exageration when it has already been indicated that the Dragon can be killed with only two or three reloads, a dozen at most if you are very unlucky. Even Kakero's approach should not require much more than a hundred re-loads since as I far as I remember the Dragon only has about 1000 hp.
I suspect your "99%" is equally hyperbolic; though I must acknowledge there are a lot of "purists" who would never contemplate such tactics.
I am confident that many MM7 players who had never been aware of the possibilities of killing the Dragon would love to try once they knew how. It does radically change the game. But isn't this a good thing. Replay value?

Buy everyone a Bow early on.

I found that doing the Ranger promotion Quest (the first one) gives you some well-needed XP. There´s a guy in Pierpoint that gives you the Quest and all you have to do is to find the Fairy King (I think that was his name) in Avlee. Just follow the mountains to your right when you enter Avlee until you come to a cave. The cave is to the northeast of the town. There are some minor monsters inside though.

If you pick up some ore, go to Steadwick and find a row of houses. In three of the houses there are people that can make magic weapons/armor/items out of them.

That sounds a lot like bug exploitation. Anyway, i just go in and run circles around that dragon. They have a certain sequence of fly, breath, fly. If you time it right, you will not get hit by his breath weapon and when he is flying around you can turn towards him and shoot a couple arrows. If he stops, turn again and run some more in a circle around him.

I usually kill Cormorack with bows, and perhaps the wand. Near the entrance of the cave, there's a little opening where you can hide, wait for everyone to turn green, and then slide out sideways to strafe him. He'll breathe, but it will go where you were, and you can then strafe back. Takes a while, but you can take him out.

Just be careful not to strafe down to the step below the entrance. Then you can't strafe back, and you're going to be toast.

I find this to take much less time than running in circles and timing breathing patterns.
