ooc: Uh, Skye dear? You do know that the bicep is part of the arm right? And I'm not even going to go into Spree's misspellings. Sigh, the things I have to put up with here.

Okay, even though it's against my better judgement, what are your suggestions Skye? This is just out of curiousity since Pathris was kind of scared off by Spree. Besides, he says he doesn't want to be part of a harlem. Something about being special.

Pathris watched as the last of the ghouls took a bite out of Lurin's arm. The other had been taken out by the little dragon, which Pathris liked. Skye was charging in after seeing the ghoul attack Lurin, but there was no way Pathris was getting closer to one of those things, so he kept firing his bow at the last ghoul. He made sure to keep his distance, but he also tried to keep an eye on his companions that were in melee combat. He might've thought Skye to be a fool to rush in, but at least he was considering her a brave fool at the moment. Perhaps he'd chide her later, especially if she got herself hurt. But he did not want to think about that now.

"Turgon, why don't you use a spell that'll actually help us?" The spellcaster's last two spells didn't appear to have done much to the ghouls, and Pathris was starting to get a bit frustrated. These ghouls were taking an awful lot of punishment.

(ooc) are we gonna find some healing potions soon cos otherwise i have strange feeing my character is gonna die. also that elvish i just found it on asite and thought it went with the flow of what was happening. didn't think i'd look all that up did you? which arm is injured??

lurin clenched his arm in pain. the blow had knocked him to the floor, and he quickly crawled to the side, hoping to advoid the ghoul. as always im the only person to get hurt..thats because no one else has the damn courage to help, or maybe the intelligence not to. that dragons my savior he thought. that fool pathris might be a bit more useful if he stopped skulking about and fought like a true man he had to find some cover, and hope the rest could finish them off. he heard pathris's comment towards turgon, and shouted back "at least he is doing something, look at you, you can't even hold your damn blade properly"

Being disappointed of the effect of his spells, Turgon stopped for a while, deciding what spell to fire next. Hearing Lurins scream and Pathris' comment made him even more stressed. "I wish I could have a moment of peace," he thought to himself.
"I hope this one will be more effective, or Pathris will probably never stop bugging me about it." Being as concentrated as one can be, Turgon muttered some words, and sent a Magic Missile flying against the Ghoul.
"This one better be working," he said to himself. "I doubt my magic will last much longer unless I get some rest."

(ooc) if we rest in this do we get health back??

lurin crawled into the corner holding his arm. he looked at Turgon's spell as it flew past him towards the ghoul. just incase it didn't work he grabbed his knife in his good hand, and stood up. he looked down at his wound and anger grew in his body, with all his force he hurled his knife towards the ghoul, which was headed for its throat. hoping it would finish off the beast.

ooc: Starshadow- Honestly, I only had 5 minutes to type that whole thing!
And that's HAREM, not HARLEM, smartass.
But really! Tut tut, Starshadow! It's not wise to pick on the DM! I guess I'll have to call up some more friends to play... YEP! More monsters to take bites out of you, everybody, and it's ALL HIS fault!
Skye- Kuroshi's up to 2 earrings on each of his ear lobes, his left cartilage pierced, his left eyebrow pierced, and now both of his nipples pierced. He says he's getting the tongue next. Crazy kid! Where did we go wrong?!
DA- Yes, if you rest you will regain your lost hit points. But you must rest 8 hours in this nasty, monster-infested dungeon...
Exxon- You are officially out of 1st level spells for the day.

Skye
Throwing Dagger
To-Hit: 13 + 2 = 15 *SUCCESS*
Damage: 3 + 2 = 5

Pathris
Arrow
To-Hit: 16 + 5 = 21 *SUCCESS*
Damage: 4

Turgon
Magic Missile
Damage: 4 + 1 = 5

Lurin
Throwing Dagger
To Hit: 14 + 5 = 19 *SUCCESS*
Damage: 4 + 4 = 8

The Party

The ghoul tried to evade Skye's throwing dagger with a duck, but this was less than effective, and the knife hit him in the forehead. The ghoul growled, but seemed not to notice the pain of the attack, as all of his attention was focused upon the feast of Lurin's flesh. Blood dripped down the undead's hollow gray-green face as Pathris's arrow hit it on the shoulder. The ghoul seemed oblivious of his own second death coming upon him as he gnashed at the meat with his yellow, dagger-sharp teeth. Turgon's magic missile then hit the creature in the stomach, which finally brought the creature back to attention. Having gulped down his meal, he was ready for more. He saw Lurin, hunched in the corner, smelling ever so delectible as he bled freely. The ghoul shrieked terribly and started towards Lurin, only to find a dagger tossed into the center of his sunken chest. The ghoul fell to the floor with a groan, crouching into a fetal position, and finally dying.

XP Awards!!
I pitted you against greater ghouls. Which have double the hit points of the average ones. They have a CR of 3... So that's 1,800 for both ghouls, and I'm going to divide it by 4, since Ryukari only got 1 attack. So that's 450 for each of you. And that puts you up to... 2557.5 XP

ooc: Yeah, yeah, I know Spree. I didn't notice that typo until you pointed it out, though. Silly me. I suppose I can be less critical of your mistakes. Maybe. And besides, I have to defend Pathris. Maybe you (and Skye) shouldn't pick on him some much!

Pathris watched as his last arrow found the mark on the ghoul. Skye had just hit it in the forehead with a dagger, and his own arrow had found shoulder. But the ghoul seemed unfazed and continued on toward Lurin.

Turgon fired up a spell and this one looked to have a good effect on the ghoul. "That's better," Pathris said to the spellcaster, nodding in approval. It seemed to have grabbed the creature's attention, causing it to pause for a moment before advancing on Lurin again. But Lurin managed to toss a dagger at the ghoul, catching it full in the chest, which finished the battle.

Pathris looked at the fallen Lurin and said, "Maybe it's you that needs a lesson in combat. As I recall, it wasn't you that took down the leader of those goblins." He tapped his head once with a finger. "Besides, intelligence is the better part of valor. I draw my blade when needed, not because some foolish man wants me to. And I didn't draw it this time, so I don't have any idea what you were talking about with the 'can't hold your blade properly' comment. You were doing fine until you decided to speak. I'm beginning to think you have other deficiencies besides the mental ones I keep seeing."

He turned and began to inspect the room. Perhaps there was something of value to be found here, hopefully something he could put to use. Treasure had a way of perking up most people spirits, after all.

ooc: Oh, I think I'm going to copyright the usage of the word 'fool' for this thread. I think it's becoming Pathris' word of choice.

edit: A couple of things added and fixed.

lurin slumped in the corner sighed a sigh of relief. hearing the comments of pathris he began to get angry, "what is your damn problem, is it too hard to help someone or at least aid them in need. or is your arrogence too great to do that, and yes maybe you did take out the goblin leader, but did not i take out four" he painfully stood up, and spat at Pathris's feet."if it is not too much trouble could i have short rest to patch up my arm?" he looked at the group except Pathris who he was infuriated with at the moment, hoping for a short rest after their encounter. he began to mop up the blood, and neaten the bandage round his arm. he looked at the dragon and said "thank you my little friend for your assistence, i am in your debt" he turned away breathing deeply and looked at pathris and skye[b]"i should also thank you, for my conscience commands it"

Nodding at each of the group members, Turgon sat down next to Lurin. Partly to get a little rest, partly to talk with Lurin.
"Good work, my friend," he said in elvish.
With a little lower voice, he continued, "I'd advice you to try to be a little calmer. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying that Pathris deserves anything else, because I have just as much doubts as you about him.
However, it is hard to admit this, but we do need his help to get out of here. And yelling at him and just returning his bad behavior is not very smart. I doubt that Pathris would go as far as to run away from us, but I would like to see you both out in one piece. Besides, he will only get worse if we start to argue with him back."

Smiling at Lurin, and hoping he wouldn't take it the wrong way, Turgon stood up, and went over to Skye. He smiled at her, before he started speaking with a low voice.
"I know we don't have much time, and that we should get moving quickly, but both me and Lurin are in need of a little rest. Lurin's arm is hurt badly, I can tell that much, and he will not be able to use his abilities as long as his condition is that bad.
As fo rme, being a Sorcerer doesn't mean that I have unlimited of magic, because I have not. I have few useful spells left, and won't be able to do much good if my magic is weak."
He took a little break to catch his breath before continuing. "I am not asking if it would be ok for you if we just lie down and sleep some, but atleast Lurin needs a little time to recover.
Besides," he said, looking over at Pathris. "Besides, I think we have the time, it atleast looks like Pathris will be busy for a while, with all the weird things in this room"

lurin looked towards Turgon "sorry i got angry, its just the audacity of Pathris..." he looked aver at Turgon as he walked to skye at least i know there is someone i can count on, and that little dragon has been of much use he looked at his wound, it was bad, but not fatal. he knew how to heal it if he could get the right matierials. he just hoped he co uld either rest or heal before going further. he thought it was in the best interests of the group as well. if he and turgon were rendered useless, then it would leave skye and pathris to fight, not forgetting he dragon. wrapping a piece of cloth he had found he tightly secured his arm, to stop the bleeding, and leant his head against the wall. breathing gently he pulled out his sword and wiped the blood of of it with a bit of matierial he had wripped of his coat. after he sat waiting the groups decision.

ooc: May I suggest if you are resting to tuck Pathris in on the rack in the other room?
Seriously, if you are going to stop and rest, don't just zip straight to waking up. I have *dreams* for select members of the party.

Pathris
Check your PMs to find out what special things are in this room.

Lurin
Ryukari quickly loped over to you, lowering his head and whimpering in his high pitched voice. His golden-brown eyes narrowed and blinked several times, observing your grievous wounds. He muttered in the scanty bits of elvish he'd learned from observing the group. "Lurin, Ryukari is sorry." The little dragon looked at your wound again, an aura of pity about him.
