Locked Away - Chapter I

lurin looked at the rogue, at least he is useful for something! he thought to himself. i'd like to see him survive living with nature, no doubt he'd go running home before long he thought to himself, with a grin. [b]"are we going to see whats in the room then? i'm sure you were just waiting for us to hold your hand while we enter wern't you Pathris", the ranger smiled at Turgon as he said this. lurin looked down at the trap, and was rather annoyed at how Pathris had mocked him and turgon earlier. pulling out his bow lurin waited to enter the room

(Arcane Archer, Shadowdancer, Assassin, Loremaster, Etc.) You won't qualify for all of them, but then they'll bring some diversity to the world. [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img]

The Party
When you surveyed this room, you couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable. It was an eerie place. There was an odd, dark stain, probably old blood, splattered on the stone wall across from you. It looked as if somebody had been thrown at the door on that wall and just... Exploded. There was another door, which had about four stone steps carved up to a platform before it, to your left. The only other door was the one you came through. There was a large brazier on the platform before the door, and an old, rusted fountain on the Eastern wall. The fountain no longer worked, leaving a stagnate pool of water around the broken, unidentifiable centerpiece. But the focal point of the room had to be the large, once grand, but now moth eaten and dusty rug, in the center of which was a skeleton, a dark stain beneath where he lay, and gnawing on his bones, a pair of ghouls... The ghouls looked up as you entered the room. One of them cried out, "Fresh meats!!!!" No further prompting was called for. Both ghouls rushed at you. ( [img]tongue.gif[/img] And no, Ryukari can't fireball you out of this one. He can only use that once a day at this age.)

lurin seeing the ghouls quickly jumped to the side. grabbing an arrow he fired it towards the nearest ghouls head. then grabbing his short sword he ran towards one of the ghouls and cleaved at the body.

Turgon, feeling quite silly for following Pathris' joke so far, smiled at Pathris. He had a good sense of humour, but thought that this joke was a couple of steps over the line. He decided to pretend not to be annoyed, though. "I hope his sense of humour isn't all like this," he thought. "Or he might end up with a Ray of Frost through his body." He lightly grinned to himself, before following the others through the door.

Once again he felt very uncomfortable, being one step over the door sill. "This place has the stench of dead."
And quite correct, the minute after two Ghouls appeared. As from reflex, Turgon fired a Ray of Frost against one of them, and aimed a Daze spell on the other (the one Lurin is attacking). "Let`s see if there is any guts in these creatures," he thought, now drawing his Short Sword for defense.

lurin running towards the ghouls saw a flash of light, as a dase spell danced towards the ghoul. knowing that Turgon had cast the spell he cried back in thanks. then with his rage he turned to the ghoul he was running at and screamed"Lye duraser naa i'Meneldalie, tanya n'eldelie, imya tyara ri'avarien tyar, awruva ten' ai'er. Lye uma mani lye irma avaene awrien ai'er. Coia ulua im valina ar' malia ten' ai'er. Eller naa ai tanya ettula en'dagora, ar'lye avara dagor iire eller naa men. Nan'eller naa nat'or ten'man lye dagora hiraetha. Tharien i'men en' nat'or n'sanuva yassen rangwien. Eldalie caela an rinar, dethola tyaralle yassen nomin pelu sen. Mellonea, ar'gothea, rinuva"

ic- Skye chuckled inwardly at Pathris' dry sense of humour. 'As if I'd fall for that... I'm a bard after all! Ah well, I'll play along... everyone deserves some fun once in awhile,' she thought cheerily to herself and let herself be pushed out of the room.

Once the door was open, Skye followed after the others, shivering as she suddenly felt chilled. Looking about the room, taking notice of the blood stains and rotting interior, she instinctively placed herself in front of Ryukari. 'Darn, looks like my second thoughts about this room were correct,' she thought grimly to herself. Unsheathing one of her throwing knives, Skye gauged the distance between her and the 2nd ghoul, since Lurin was dashing at the first one in a blind rage. Judging it to be in her throwing range, she hurled it with all her might where the thing's head joined on to its body. 'Maybe it's vulnerable to cold iron, like Gasts are... just need to remember to keep my distance from them so I don't become paralyzed by their touch.' she watched from a short distance aways, close enough to assist her commrads but far enough away that she could avoid the pair of Ghouls.

ooc- darn, everyone but me is immune to them.. *sighs* well, the elves are at least [img]smile.gif[/img] paralysis, that is..

ooc: TEN pop-tarts?! [img]tongue.gif[/img] That's ambitious Skye! That's 10 shirts on the chandelier! [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img] 10 flare spells! 10,000 gold in alcohol to get them all to submit entirely to your will.
So whaddya think, Skye, should Pathris be allowed into the pop-tart registry? I think he follows all the criteria... Let's review...
He is male, elven, young, a rogue, has at least one eye...

6. To be accepted as a pop-tart, at least one tattoo, piercing, or weird scar is required. Emotional scars do not count.

ooc: DA, I think you're going a little overboard with the translator. It's really not necessary.

What character level do we need before we get the Prestige Classes? 10 or 20?

Skye darling, you'd be so lost without me right now.

Lurin was mad about the joke, but Pathris didn't care. "I came back because I'd rather that you take the brunt of the next attack than myself. After all, you're as thick as a wall, and about as smart as one," he retorted in reply to Lurin's comments. "Just because you would've waltzed in and gotten killed doesn't meant that anyone else here would've been that dumb."

He followed the group into the next room, where they interrupted two ghouls who were feeding. "Great, more undead." He pulled grasped the bow and shot an arrow at the nearest one. Lurin did the same and charged in. "Well, I suppose someone has to do that. As long as it isn't me."

Pathris decided to ignore the one that Lurin had charged, as he didn't want to shoot his companion, even if he didn't like him. He took a spot next to Skye and continued to shoot arrows at the other ghoul. If she needed more daggers, he'd be able to help. "And if the ghoul rushes us... well, I'd rather have the help of the little dragon in combat," he told himself.

edit: Well, maybe if it isn't a weird piercing, Pathris might be game. He might rather have a tattoo, though. I'll check with him.

ooc: Excellent, excellent! Nobody's ever LET me mutilate... ERR! Tattoo their character before... Hehhehe... [img]tongue.gif[/img] Since Skye's gathering a HAREM of these tattooed freaks, you might wanna ask one of them where to get it done.
Ah, and prestige classes can start as soon as you've met the criteria. Earliest I've seen is a level 4 dwarven defender... Most of them you can work up to by level 6 or 7. I'm hoping to release the prestige class criteria within a day or two.

The Party
Battle was engaged, and fiercely!

First Lurin shot an arrow, but misfired and did not make a mark, bouncing harmlessly off the ceiling and onto the floor beyond the ghouls. His follow-up attack was more successful, hitting the ghoul across the chest. This did some considerable damage, though the creature seemed plenty capable of going on.

Second was Turgon, sending his magics into battle. His icey ray of frost hit the ghoul Lurin came into meelee with, making it shriek terribly. The daze spell lit up in a brilliant flash of light, but the second ghoul seemed rather unphased.

Pathris's arrows both flew true, one for each of the horrid creatures. The first ghoul cried terribly again out as the arrow hit it through the throat, but being undead, this was no mortal wound. The second ghoul got an arrow in the chest, which stuck out awkwardly.

Skye's throwing dagger hit the first ghoul in the center of the collarbone, digging itself deep into the creature's rotting flesh. The ghoul staggered back at this attack, looking nearly beaten, though it hadn't been killed again yet.

Ryukari charged up next to Lurin, slashing the first ghoul with his claws and finishing the job. Now there was only one ghoul left, which opened its mouth wide and bit at Lurin, tearing away part of the ranger's bicep as he did so. (7 points of damage, Lurin has 4 hit points left.) However, Lurin managed to throw off the ghoul's jaws before it could sink its horrid diseases into his bloodstream.

meh, I'm always lost 'nyways starshadow but you know, i need all the help i can get
what does Kuroshi have that goes under #6 now? And to think how sweet he was when he was young.. Toby must've been a bad influence on him *nodds to self*

ic- Seeing the Ghoul close its jaws around Lurin's arm, Skye became infuriated. Running up to the creature while pulling out one of her other throwing daggers, she threw it a few feet away from it, right into its still open jaws. "Go chew on someone else, you creep!" she yelled at it angrily, as it choked on the dagger now lodged into the back of its throat.

ooc- If Pathris ever needs advice on what tattoo or piercing to get, and the location of it, all you need to do is ask.. [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img]
