I am in chapter two, and have completed the D'arnise keep, Windspear Hills, Umar Hills, and slavers sidequests. I am using multiplayer mode and have 3 player generated characters...
Chaotic Good Human Fighter, 10th (main) Lawful Neutral Elven Swashbuckler Choatic Good Human Sorcerer I have been using Aerie Mazzy Minsc I am feeling a bit light in the mage area, as sorcerers are not that versatile, and aerie is only a part time mage. I was thinking of dropping Minsc and Aerie for Anomen and Edwin, although I am sure this will cause some squabling. I am hoping someone might have a better suggestion. I never rely on magic... one sorceror is good enough for me..but
anomen gets way better than minsc eventually, killing undead and being able to boost himself up with cleric spells if u ask me i vote for korgan as the best fighter in the game, but if you want to go and be good well ask anomen (try keldorn if ur unsure he combined w/ catomsys...ohh god) |

If i were you, i'd keep Minsc (hes still the best non-evil fighter type) and consider a cleric or druid.Jaihera is an excellent choice, as she is a good druid and a good fighter, Anomen is about on the same level, but Cernd is absolutely AWESOME for magic support.
If you want a better mage, i'm afraid that there isnt one (sorry) Imoen is an average mage, Nalia is crap (sorry but its true), Aerie is ok, but a bit on the weak-as-a-lamb side and Edwin is an evil b*****d. What about dualling your Human fighter to a mage? (he will need a high INT score). Level 12 is a good time in my opinion. Are you using the TeamBG mod The Darkest Day? (URL given below) If you are then there is a cool wizard named Robillard. ![]() The Darkest Day webpage |

Dump Aerie and get Anomen. Drop Mazzy and get Jan. That's what I would do

No mods at this point. Dualing the fighter is a good idea, but his 16 int is the same as aerie's. Why do you feel Jan is stronger than aerie? I have never really used Jan much, as he is a part time mage as well.

quote: You are still low enough in levels to do alot of side quests which are in chapter two. And I don't like low int mages myself but Aerie has most of my spells so I'm sticking with her. I've made her my scouter and one man show. With a ring of wizardry, vecna robe, and staff of the magi, she is the one I solo mostly with while leaving my party behind in dungeons. She also turns undead. Right now she has 2 breaches and two lower resists memmed. All lower spells consist of self buffs like draw upon holy power for added stats, stone skin, magic missles, chromatic orbs and a few more versatile spells. I think you only need her or any other mage to maybe cast haste, and pierce/breach caster shields. Later on you may want to look at the individual stats to see who will have the most spells open to your party. Viconia has a high level wisdom which means she gets priests spells later on that I think Anomen doesn't. This is probably something I would consider since you are lacking a solid priest. You already have your fighters and your sorcerer. Just need a solid priest for the better spells later on and another mage like Aerie. To my party she is invaluable- but I'm in the early stages and she is my only mage. So far so good. I have Minsc, Jaheira, Korgan, Aerie, Anomen, and me. I dropped Korgan for Mazzy for the Temple Ruins area. I'm going back to get em since I'm not used to Mazzy. I'm going to drop Anomen for either Viconia later on or Keldorn later on if I can find him. Check int on your npc mages and pick the one with the highest since this gives you more versatile and higher level spells. Cernd and Viconia has a wisdom of 18 - good spell usage. I just don't like the frail and nimble Cernd. Minsc is debatable - good proficiencies but his berserking when something happens to Aerie causes me more problems than anything else. He uses most of my weapons since I'm playing with a regular party...your warrior can probably not need him. 3 tanks - your warrior, swashbuckler, (Minsc, Korgan, or Keldorn) 3 casters - your sorcerer, --priest---, flexible npc here. Even Viconia should hold up in battle as well as Jaheira(on the tanking side).
