Was wondering what weapons you guys use with your mages... when they are not casting spells of course. The best I've found so far is a Boomerang Dagger +2, gives 2d4+2 damage and returns to the casters hands. Edwin actually scores kills in battles without casting spells with this one. Anyone using something better?

the best weapon i have is the Staff of MAGI... kinda cool but you have to defeat a hard and powerful group...only with the right tactics can you win... besides using that staff of the magi, i like using the other staffs of elementals, fire, earth and air. i like the staff of air elemental.. you can summon some monsters and dont have to mind battle with it...
spoiler: oh by the way the staff of the magi gives you ability to cast spell trap once a day (its a lvl 9 spell, really cool). you can also cast lightning and fireball 3 times a day. once you equip it automatically you become invisible (unless you attack or something) and you are protected from evil. you can get this by doing the rune quest. |

Spoiler
-- -- -- Yeah, i think you get it in the bridge district, and if you made it inside you cant go out until you defeated this group of really hard monsters. This battle was the hardest in the entire game for me. But im only in chapter 5 now I had to reload a lot of times. And then i got really lucky, when the lich inside the room, the one standing on the table, casted gate without being protected from evil!!!! Man i had to laugh when i did just stand there whatching how his summoned helper killed him |

The Boomerang dagger +2 is good. The Firetooth dagger +3 is slightly better, but can only be purchased in the Drow city. If your Mage can use a sling, the +5 sling that requires no ammo is great, although I usually have it in Jahiera's capable hands.

It can be purchased from one of the bonus CD merchants (probably the one in the Copper Coronet). Be warned, it is VERY expensive.
