Sazerac, exactly. That's why I never kill him. He's too much fun to badger. BTW, thanks for the cool portrait, except I don't know how to put it on my sig. Will you PM or e-mail me on hoow to do it, so I can lose this lame knight???

I never found Anomen that annoying, and I included him in my party on virtually every run through the game. He's just too useful to leave behind. And as for his personality, I don't dislike that too much either. He's just written so well, IMO. His arrogance is clearly only a defence mechanism of his to silence his own insecurity and fears.
And I loved Jan's story about Ano the Dung Orc ![]() |

Yeah, I also hate Anomen. I have only had him in my party twice.
He has some good qualities, though, like priest-spells, a good tanker etc. Grr, I just hate when he talks, and answers you like "Hrmmf". Every tme I see or hear him, I just wanna ! see ya! |

I don't know if y'all noticed, but Anomen is a little statement on todays society by bioware. A typical offspring of the dysfunctional family. Abusive, drunken father and no loving mother figure. At least, that's what I saw. Anomen just needs love and purpose in his life and prozac in his diet! He'll be all right with counseling. Don't you think?

Even after passing his test, Anomen is so...earnest. The Unctuous Factor in his conversation with Keldorn is high enough to induce vomiting. I know it's pretty realistic (the acting seems pretty damn good to me) and you're not supposed to think the world of everybody, though, so I don't mind. I avoided him for four run-throughs, and finally decided to include him in a party when I was doing my fifth. (I wanted to try out everybody. Unfortunately, I still missed Mazzy.)

quote: Actually, that was Barb that did you the sig, Galadria. I can host it for you, though! Back to the subject: what's really fun is to have Anomen, Keldorn, and Jan in the party. The two tales he (Jan) spins about those characters gets them so hopping mad it's a hoot! ![]() -Sazerac

quote: Actually I think every damned NPC in this story needs depth counseling! Anomen for his abusive childhood, Nalia to get over her overcomensation to the "unfortunate" because she feels guilty for being the "poor little rich girl" Aerie to get over her WINGS Jaheira to get over HERSELF Jan to give up setting himself up for an unrequited love Cernd to get some backbone and sense of family responsibility Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung would have had a field day with the BG2 troupe! ![]()

I remember the first time through (as a good party, and I was a fighter), I hated Anomen so much that I killed him. The next time I was an evil mage, and I simply didn't have any use for him. This time, I am playing a more-or-less neutral (with evil tendencies) party with my druid that I played all the way through BG1 and TOSC with. There aren't a lot of neutral or evil characters to choose from, and from my experience with the evil party, I realized that Vicky was "the weakest link" (although I did enjoy the romance). I chose to include Anomen (along with Korgan, Jaheira, Edwin, and Jan), and he is working out great. I also noticed that he is less irritating than he used to be. I think they added to and changed some of the character dialogues in TOB and/or the latest patch (or maybe I'm just less sensitive).
It was pretty funny...I had a 15 rep before his test, but I made a point of killing a townsperson to lower it to 9 before we went in (Korgan and Edwin were bitching anyway). I liked his reaction when he failed. Question...He wanted to go in and kick their asses, but I talked him down. Would he have gotten himself killed?
