Thanks Seclists

Hmm, will have to think about the manual. In the meantime if you want me to look anything up for you, just ask.

Yes, I also used Wizards such as Rjak for other realms rather than their natural realm of magic. I also enjoyed using a buffed up Torin with created weapons, armour etc to clear out most of the nodes/ruins on Myrror to get weapons, retorts etc.

I also agree about the Web spell. One of the reasons for picking Nature. Also Warlord and White Magic and all the combat enhancing buildings etc was overpowered particularly with High Men as you say. What was that skill that automatically gave you +1 to your weapons? That with Warlord.

Anyway, seem to be highjacking Variol's thread so perhaps we should start our own thread and other MoM fans could take part? That's a thought, is there still an active MoM forum do you know? The MoM Game Faqs Forum was still going strong last time I looked.

FYI: You will never find it on any abandonware site, as Microprose's current owner is a complete piece of sh!t. They also will not sell you a copy, for some god forsaken reason, so it is impossible to find. I have it somewhere at home, and I will upload it to my web server when I get a chance. I will post in this thread when I get it up there.

Happiness!!

I've got MoM working on XP! No sound though, couldn't be bothered. Outdated graphics, superb gameplay and strategy, it's good to be back after all these years (sob).

Custom Wizard Ariel with 10 Life books and Charisma and High Men. Torin is doing his usual rampaging through nodes and ruins, suitably buffed of course (Lionheart, Heroism, Invulnerability etc).

Seclists is right, High Men, Torin and White Magic is just too easy what with stacks of my Paladins roaming around.

I think Dark Elves next.

Just to digress, I deal with research publications and sent off a report about Children with Learning Difficulties to the printers. Printer made a typo and it came back as Children with Leaning Difficulties! Fortunately I spotted it before it was circulated.

Edit: typos

To get it to run with music (but no sound effects) go get VDMSound or DosBox.

Try Dark Elves, All Chaos

Get Chaos Surge, Doom Mastery, Armageddon and Great Wasting all going at the same time

To make it even better, capture a Beastmen town, or even High Men.

Paladins w/ Adamantium Weapons + Chaos Surge Pwnz All (throw Lionheart on there too +7 to attack/defense/resistance, +5 to life )

Good News I have uploaded Master of Magic to my web server

Just download and run the file, it'll unzip itself, after which you have to install.

Why is it that this thread doesn't fit into my window? Did the original post person do something to make this happen?

Variol

I got it to work by following Seclists' link to the FAQ and then to the section which says about getting it to work on XP. I did the first thing which was to right click and change the settings in memory etc. Didn't use Dosbox or VMsound.

WARNING WILL ROBINSON: After following these steps I haven't tried anything else since, so hope changing anything above hasn't done anything to my computer.

Riftmaker, started afresh with Dark Elves, Warlord and then all Death magic. With those Adamantium deposits lying around must conquer a Halfling city and build one on Myrror for Adamantium slingers. See if they are still as good as I remember them.

With hindsight probaly should have started as Halflings...

Fallout 1 and 2:

1.
Does anybody know what the whitelabel edition is?
This isn't a cleaned version with cut out all the good stuff, is it?

2.
Is it possible to play this games in a separate window or only in full screen mode?

3.
is there a good help/forum/walkthrough site out there?

many thanks!

I think you should post this question in the miscellaneous games section at Ironworks which can be found here
