Problem: Rapax Castle (Spoiler) and Marten's Bluff (same) - please help

Possible spoiler questions follow:


First question:
I managed to get my party (all female) to the point of dealing with Al-Sedexus. Now, I found out that you have to have a male PC... *hmph* ... so I went back and picked up Saxx, spent over a month getting him up to a level that was above anyone else in the party, and she still won't accept him. What am I doing wrong? I have a sneaking suspicion he's not being accepted because he wasn't with me during the whole "initiation" phase, where you fight the elementals. Any advice? I started up another game in the meanwhile, but I'd hate to abandon this one entirely (I'm stubborn and don't want to do the Rapax/Umpani options remaining to me).

Second question:
I managed to get my new party to Marten's Bluff, but that dratted door/bridge thing won't open for me - the one that leads into the area where you have a party member stolen. I can't remember how I got it open the first time. Can anyone remind me, please? A solid hint will do for this question. I just can't remember and it's driving me nuts!

Drat, just saw that there was an answer to my first question in another post. Sorry about that! I really did check the archives first - but that was last week sometime and the post came in after that. I bet the odds and lost on that one.
