Bug with book of Portals?

Unless I'm completely stupid and missing something obvious I think my game has screwed up.

I've got a priest who learnt Set Portal / Return To Portal on levelling up. He can cast both of them no problem. I later found a book of Portals which my mage used, however he seems to be only able to cast Set Portal, Return To Portal doesn't show up in his list of spells so it's completely useless. Is this a bug or do I need to find another book to learn Return To Portal or something?

Yes, you must find the "Return" book, too.

IIRC there are 3. One is in the caves of Mt. Gigas.

As Loudhy had said there is a book for both spells: set portal and return to portal. Set portal sets the portal location for the character who cast it and then if he has return to portal you cast it to go back to the same location.

I was just worried 'cos I assumed that the book would be like learning it when you level up.

There are three Portal spellbook pairs to be foond in the game. There is a Return to Portal in Mt. Gigas and another one in Northern Wilderness cave. There is a third in a Rynjin hut, but by that time my casters who can use Portal already have it. Also, if you choose Return to Portal on leveling you get both spells. If you choose Set Portal you only get one, although you may get a bonus spell choice on a later level up.

i've never encountered that you only get Set if you pick it, i guess i've always picked Return and gotten Set automatically so i never played with the other first. I doubt you'd get an extra spell pick, though...

It's happened to me at least 3 times when I pick Set, maybe more. I have no idea why. Maybe there IS a bug...
