Am about to go to Ascension peak, have pretty much done everything else except the Mountain retro-- tired of looking for long sword, am killing time 'till I get around to patching the game.

Have never been able to open that iron trap door in upper Martin's, wondering how to do it.

Also never found the demon doll, am assuming its in or should be in the Prince's play room?

My 6 character party is all level 24 or better, 2 fighters with ivory blade, diamond eyes and excaliber, fairy ninja with Co'C, gadge with earthquake, negatair, etc, priest and bishop. How tough is the peak vs. rapax rift when the templars are hostile?

It would take too long to list all the stuff I have done, but would hate to have missed anything, so: Are there any non-obvious missions or areas you enjoyed that a first timer might walk right past without noticing? Any good but often overlooked weapons, speaches, etc. I should check out before finising the game?

Thanks,
Oru

That trapdoor can be opened from the LMB teleporter area & provides a way to access all MB & LMB without killing the guards in that one corner. Demon Doll is on a list of intended gadgets, but never made it into the game.

Isn't the Ivory Sword made by Ferro, and requires a piece of Coral as one of the "ingredients"? To my understanding, there is only one pice of Coral in the whole game, so how can you have 2 fighters with Ivory Blades?

I think he's saying fighter 1 has the ivory blade/diamond eyes and fighter 2 has excalibur?

Yeah, that's what I meant: he's an ex samurai hobbit with maxed crit and dual, easily my best character. The one weilding Excaliber is a former Val with maxed strength and dex, also very good. They can also do the majority of buffing spells.

They have much better kill numbers than my fairy ninja with CoC or maxed out priest or bishop with all but the very top alchemy and psionic spells. Cool that the makers of the game made it possible to do well with a non-magic party, but I wonder if the wizzards got a bit shortchanged in the process...

So I went back to LMB, still can't find the other side of the trapdoor: can anyone give me an idea what room to look in? Is this something you need the latest patch for?

I keep forgetting I can unlock that thing, also. But it's my recollection that I was told it was close to the stairs going down into the transporter area. When you're in the initial part of the Upper Fort, there's a room with a post in the middle shooting arrows that you have to pass through to reach the SE corner, where the stair is (hard to see, also). In the SW corner of that building, I think, is where a switch on the wall can be toggled to open the trap door.

It's my understand that the trap door leads down to the same place as the stairs do, just a lot more direct.

Have you got the T'rang and Umpani to ally yet? If you have, have you killed them all yet? Their quite useless after that so you can go ahead and pick up some extra XP before Ascension Peak. Not that you need it mind you. Just keep all your buff spells running and you should do fine.

Yah, the trapdoor switch is at the trapdoor, upstairs down the hall from the T'rang 4-way teleporter, right under where you see the trapdoor on MB map; i don't remember the compass direction, but if you come out of the room with the 4-way teleporter you can fix, the trapdoor is to the left, down an unused hall, up to MB.
