toughest monster

hello
I try to get the hardest monsters in AP, and walk around there for many days with a three men party lvl 35 - 38.
The hardest enemies were magma scorcher lvl 40,a Trydra lvl 35 and a guardian of life lvl 39.
Will I find harder ones ? Or am I wasting my time ? If I'm lvl 38 I guess I should meet monster > lvl 40 but I can't find them.

You will not find any harder than magma scorcher lvl 40 at that level you are, i have tried my self i was level 41 and i dont find any harder than that but i set the dificulty to expert then you can meet the hard monsters in bigger grups! i also meet a level 39 flaying monster one time but i cant remember what the name was darn hard with my level that time!

I ran into a level 50 unidentifiable serpent once (like the gazer-type serpents) at the same level you are. drove all my characters insane except the one wearing marten's helm in one attack, even though they all had 100% resistance. It also seemed pretty much immune to magic; only reliable way to kill it was with ranged attacks. Judging from what I have seen elsewhere on the board, this was probably an "armegazer". Killing one will net each character over 1 million experience points, even with a full party of 8.

so, yes, there are other things out there.

As posted by 'jsalb' on 5 May in the thread "Toughest Battles", the Armegazer/Armagazer (which name is correct?) is worth 5.6 million XP. So a party of 8 would receive 700K XP each for killing one.
