Strangely enough, I didn't find the final battle that hard.
The 'Twisted Rune' battle on the other hand was, for me, the only battle that I had to reload on around 7 seven times to figure out a tactic that worked. What does everyone else think? |

Twisted rune wasen't that hard for me... I set traps to kill the lich and then just drew the other out 1 by one. My personal pet hate is the um... 'green' dragon just before entering the final area... that is a nasty fight (I really hate insect plague).

Which one is the rune battle, I can't remeber it?
One of the hardest bits i found was the mind flayer lair. You could sya it isn't a single battle but you have to fight for every inch you move |

If you don't remember the twisted rune, you propably haven't done it. It's a sort of secret battle.

I have to agree with the people that said the Twisted Rune was the toughest battle. Also, the inner sanctum of the Unseeing Eye is near impossible unless you have a cloak of reflection/mirroring or you do it later on in the game when your guys are higher level.

I pulled off the unseeing eye quest with all my characters from lvl 8-10. At first I felt bad about cheesing out on the gauths, but the gauths also cheat: while they are held by my web they can still use their ranged attack. So I just webbed, and cloudkilled em, with a few fireballs thrown in. As for the few beholders, I just rushed em with my kensai and monk and they didn't last long. But I admit to about a dozen reloads
