Help for lost love...

How can I make up with Jaheira? We all bed down for a rest on top of Nalia's keep-in the morning we wake up to thugs holding a knife to her throat. I'm too impatient to barter with these losers... and I figure, you're a tough chick and I can always restore you. She's not happy-really not happy. All of my interactions and responses before and after have been stellar and Paladin-like, but she won't forgive. Her flirting has stopped and all she ever talks about is balance and sleep. I even tried to approach the docks retailor with her to jump-start the romance-but she..."has nothing to say to you..." The interaction is what makes this such a delightful game. This emptiness is making me think about going back to the circus for elvin companionship, but all of that potential... with a shapeshifter... lost in the morning mist of D'Arnise Hold. Hello and thanx to Lady G., a fellow cavalier.

If not little Aerie or proud Viconia are your other choices. My vote: Vickey. Aerie's too delicate. Low CON=few hitpoints. You'll get tired of resurrecting her. Mmmm... decisions...I could take Aerie to the ShadowKeeper editor and give her a bulk-up makeover...(Sort of like a Sports Club membership with free kick-boxing lessons). Or...the problem with Vic is all the evil baggage jeopordizing paladin points. Then again, bad girls need love too. Okay, Vic it is... but she's getting damaged goods. Jahaera before that sleep has long been deleted. Thanx again m'Lady.

My advice with Aerie is to keep her around long enough to sleep with her. Then cut her loose (or rather she'll cut you loose).

The only one's worth romancing are Jaheira and Viconia anyway. They make you earn it!

I made the SAME mistake, gostmakker.

Fortunately, I realized my error immediately and re-loaded.

Now I have another problem with Jaheira - and I can use some advice.

She CONSTANTLY asks me "How did that last battle make you feel?"

None of the answers in the first set of responses seems to have too much impact on the situation. However, this question invariably leads to two basic choices:
1 - I tell her that "if she can't judge my character by what she sees, then I can't do anything to ease her fears" (paraphrased). She then replies that she has "a lot to think about" and the conversation ends.

2 - I tell her that "it doesn't appear as if she is ready to pursue anybody". I only chose this option once, and it ended the romance again...forcing another re-load.


My question is this....HOW LONG DOES THIS GO ON?!?!?! I've tried to be very "cavalier" in my responses, but her constant questioning of my motives is REALLY getting on my nerves. I've used this response to her without affecting the overrall outcome. I've read that she eventually gets past this point, but how long will it take? She's beginning to drive me nuts.

Yea, is this girl high maintenance or what? At least she still speaks to u. Prior to my fax paux, she responded very passionately to giving replies that were supportive, flattering, and understanding. I simply never knew to approach the retailor next to Valygar's house in the docks with her. [just the two of us] i would have done that before the mistake--have u tried that yet. i saw it posted that approaching him together without the rest of the party starts a conversation that results in buying her a ring. then she's yours forever. She be the old-fashioned type-but still a wolf. Good luck--I'm off to save Vicky...

Yes, your 'romance' is over when you push her to the brigands heh.. You're supposed to play the hero there. Stupid thing, but would work, for her anyway.

As for her questions, then she (Jaheira) didn't ask me few times about "how did it make you feel" after the battle. She commented few times about the fact that our sleep cycles do not match that of the day and night, but also only 2-3 times. Considering that in BG1 and BG2 I "outtalked" Neeber and Noober without causing them pain which would be bad for their general well-being and continuous breathing, I think I can handle the few questions Jaheira asks without going ballistic. There's some variable, beats me what it is, but check that, it's supposed to add a digit every time the 'lovetalk' moves on. Check what it is now, see if any other 'lovetalk' moves it further, if it does, then it's OK. If not, then either the answers are wrong, i.e. not good enough, or the romance is over. Or something else, beats me what heh..

This is a bug. It happens AFAIK because you kill Dermin without a certain dialogue beforehand. Try CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("Lovetalk","LOCALS",59) It fixed mine [img]smile.gif[/img]

Cerek, Dermin is the Harper that wants your guts for garters, dunno why.Has something to do with the almighty Balance and that weirdo in the Harper Hall who talks about how if a good king spreads his realm too far, etc.They lose me there. Personally, I think the Harpers are a lot of arrogant jerks. Sorry, Jahiera and Gorion.BTW, why did Gorion save you and Imoen, but then ignore Imoen.? How come, in TOB Solar never mentions this? Harpers, go figure.
