I remember the animated LOTR and the total crap that it was. So yeah they have used "artistic freedom" in the making of the film but so what. It means people who have only seen the film can now read the real story [img]smile.gif[/img]

Well obiousley they had to edit the story, and cut bits out to make it fit in the timeframe, but in someways you are right, others i think it was great. (BTW i was refering to the movie, at least i think that's what you were talking about)

Does it matter? If you don't like the movies, don't watch'em, but wether or not they're different, better or worse than the books doesn't have any impact on wether or not they're good movies...

Apart from the changes to Faramir's character I think that the changes in the films were necessary to make them enjoyable films.

Good point. The change to Faramir was wierd! but the bottom line is that they are enjoyable films.
