There were a few in the middle that were fairly slow, but the last book recaptured some of the feel of the first couple.

IMO the series isn't quite up to LOTR standards, but it's certainly on my "Must Read" list.

I just got the first book, and hope to start it very soon! I hope it's as good as David Eddings' or Dennis McKiernan's books.

I just finished Eddings' "The Redemption of Athalus" - It's an entertaining book and made me realize how much I missed Eddings' unique style. I think Jordan compares well with Eddings... they both seem to stick to "idealized" epic fantasy. Elemental Good vs. Evil type stuff. While these days I prefer the more complex work of authors like Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire), I still find I enjoy the heck out of a good "traditional" epic fantasy too.

as most of the other reads i loved like the 5 books of this series then Robby just got boring with it. He does focus strictly on the female characters, which wouldnt be bad if they did something, but they do not. Im actually doing a report on the series for my fantasy literature class, so I guess I'll have to reread at least a few of the books, also whoever said it was right in saying that the wait for each book gets longer. first it was a year, then a year and a half then like almost 2. U think he'll finish the series before he dies?

Martin is very good. I also recomend Sara Douglass. Her books are the only book that ever made me cry. The story is so sad.

I love The Wheel of Time. I could go on and on about the series, but I'm not in a rambling mood.

After the first four chapters I was hooked, and now I love them. I have the book "The World of the Wheel of Time".

It explains ALOT, esspecialy about the Age of Legends, the Breaking, the Forsaken, and the many places, nations, and people.

However, I recommend not reading it until you have read the other books. Because it kinda would give away ALOT.

For big WOT fans its essential.
