Donut,

While I appreciate your attention to detail, I most assuredly do *not* appreciate your listing them here! Some of us have not yet seen the movie and this acts as huge spoiler--spoils the simple pleasure found in watching as well as points out errors which I might otherwise remain blissfully ignorant of. Now hubby just told me I was being harsh in my statements and pointed out I didn't have to read the thread....but I did and so feel compelled to respond.

It has the look of an internet list done by professional nitpickers, but I just can't underestimate our clever friend.

He has one big flaw though : he is British.

Hmm, but it did say nitpickers guide in the thread title. Surely Garnet, you couldn't have expected this to be the euphamistic praise of all things wonderful thread. Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie, and went to see it a 2nd time on the weekend.

And Moiraine - he can't help being British -I think his parents had a greater say in that than he did.

Further more, Garnet, you was told not to read it as it would spoil your fun.

You can't moan at him when you were warned, and chose to ignore it.

And, I know Donut is proud to be British. Which is all well and good, as he come's from the greatest nation the world has ever seen

Hehe no offence, but if you see so much negatives in the movie why watch it? .

Personally I liked the movie. It was very well done... Reminded me of IWD a lot. I mean everything is almost the same I tell ya. When they travel through the mountains, then they go to the Dwarven Caves habitant by Orc which is just like Dorns Deep, and when they travel through the snowy mountains (Spine of the World). Even that it is a a whole different book set (Which I believe was made even before D&D or Forgotten Realms) it is still very similar to IWD, I dont know, but wont ye agree? hehe. The movie just has the cozy adventure spirit.

The only thing that really ticked me off is the way they finish the movie. I mean for Dorns sake, its a three hour long movie, why cant ye fit in the ending and show how Frotto and the company destroy the ring and at least fight inside those dark caves with the orc, that traitor Wizard and the Dark Knight or whatever his name is. Its like there is really no ending to the movie, but in the book the ending is far better written, so you feel as though something really important actually happened, now we need to wait another 3 years for LoTR II to come out hehe...

No you don't. It comes out next Christmas. All three movies have already been filmed. All that remains is to edit them. The last one comes out Christmas of 2003. Kind of a unique way to make a series of movies, but this way the actors don't look different (as in aged).

Ahhh, well, see, I did not quite now that matey . However thanks for the feedback. But still the movies ending blows... In the book you actually feel like something happened, something important. Even though the main events havent even took place yet. But in the movie its like -------------| and a brake or a wall, and you feel "left out" .

But, the only one I know of that he has missed is:

When Legolas fires his bow, if you tried to fire it in real life using his technique it wouldn't work.

*But people have put that down to Legolas being special*

I have only seen the movie twice, but I think that shot is only in trailers. I have not seen that particular "backwards" shot yet. I talked about this technique before and Garnet said she had used it before. I actually tried it and you "could" do it, it would just take practice since it is drastically different to the standard method. But anyway, from what I gathered the scene of the backwards bowshot is not in the movie because of that, it backwards. Sometimes, especially in long awaited movies trailers use film sections that are not in the final cut. I may be wrong but that is my elvish archer prospective.
