Tolkien is the best. Robert Jordan is next.

I like R.A. Salvatore, and the person that wrote the Dragons of Pern series. C'mon now who here has not heard about Drizz't? I know most of you have read Homeworld!

ROBERT E. HOWARD!!!!
The first real fantasy books out there!!! Before his time!! To bad he killed himself before he became REALLY great! The legends of Conan are immortal, too bad sucky marvel comics and tv-series destroy his true image. |

My favourites are
Tolkien-duh R.A. Salvatore Peirs (X)Anthony However, I do not like Robert Jordan's WoT series. Or, rather, I enjoyed the first 2. Some other poster correctly stated that most of the novels are 600pg of character development and 200pgs of plot. I also get sick of this men vs women thing. It is damn annoying. It seems he tries to write two novels in each book, one for men and one for women. Go figure. |
